  • Dobson crossed Josh McDummy. I'm afraid his days in New England are probably over. Like I've said when he was in Denver he did the same thing to Cutler and Marshall. I don't know the details but something went down.

The rumors were true. Coach covering up the situation but it happened and there was a rift between thompkins and dobson amd the staff. Dobson has not gotten along with several members of the staff. Thompkins and he both haven't and they were hanging out a lot and just bringing each other down with negativity. They kept dobson and shipped thompkins off, Dobson still has a chance to get it together there but is on thin ice. "A certain Maturity level is expected in new england" is the phrase that belichick used when talking to dobson. Thats all the specifics i have. Regardless of what sturt likes to say, I am not a bullshitter, and i dont have alot of "top secret connections" but his is one i do have.

  • Didn't say that at all.

    Look it up.

What I said was that you repeat things that ought not be repeated... if your sources were street-chatter, they ought not be repeated, and if your source was one of his closest confidantes, it ought not be repeated.

There is only one motive I can think of for doing what you're doing here, as you did before... it's called self-indulgence.

Who's to be criticized... the NE coaches who covered up the situation to protect him?... or the Herd fan who takes the opportunity to use "top secret connections" to expose him and bring him down?

Dare I say, on behalf of myself and others who have been here from practically the outset, the same refrain you used from Belichick...

A certain maturity level is expected... on this board.

Say whatever you want to say by IMs. But think about who you might be harming before you post publicly. There was nothing to be gained by this post other than self-congratulation.

You are one of the biggest douches i have ever had the inconvenience of interacting with. I hope i never meet you in person.

He is a big boy, this is a message board. Im not going to hide any info i can share. Someone asks me a question, ill answer it. AD is a grown man getting paid millions of dollars, you think any of his will effect him? You probably do because your view of yourself and what you post on a message board changes the world. You are that ego-centric. He solar system revolves around sturts brain. We all know that

  • I, like most Herd fans, would like to know why one of our players isn't getting any playing time.  Such information is exactly the reason many access these sites.

  • Don't know about "most" Herd fans... always a little cautious about using that term myself, but maybe you have reason to say that...

But there is some number who agree... maybe even yourself if you think about it... that some degree of discernment ought to come into play.

One, you ask yourself, "Would his mom care that I'm telling everyone what she told me?"

Two, you ask yourself, "What's the potential harm in agreeing with the NE coaches' story? Who's hurt by that?"

Three, you ask yourself, "What's the potential harm in telling mom's story? Who's hurt by that?"... and now c'mon... obviously... it doesn't serve AD's interests, whether he stays in NE or if he eventually gets released and looking for another club, to have someone out there saying that AD's mom said he'd been a discipline problem.

  • hehe... you sure do seem to love that "circular logic" term... but, question, if I may... does it occur to you that using a term when one doesn't actually comprehend its meaning can be counterproductive when there is no actual discernible "circular logic" to be had?... I mean, "counterproductive," ie to the pursuit of getting people to have faith in your public assertion that your IQ is... what did you say... 118?... I mean, for someone whose common support for his opinion is "it is because I said it is," would it not be wise to check to make sure you're not, ironically enough, making yourself into a punchline in that respect?

So which is it? Or... maybe "any number" can tell us b/c it's no longer secret now that his mom made the mistake of telling you? That's the only way those two statements (in the same daggone thread, mind you) seem to make any sense.

No. I realize the questions aren't comfortable, but on this one, you don't get a pass.

No one was served except your own self-indulgence by saying his mom told you what you say she told you.

You are a self serving troll sturt. Thats all you do. Someone challenges your ego centric attitude or your own view of yorself as the nost intellient person in the world, then you get mad and start these posts that never end. If someone else offers information that others ARE INTERESTED IN, bt you didnt think of it or know about it, it offends you. As of now, you can see above someone just told you thats why we are here, to get info from one another.

You disregard any information or questions that come your way to serve your interests.

And make no mistake, i meant what i said about my mother. Its no secret i dont like you, but you saying crap like that, just further shows the arrogance you have. Not even an apology. You just go on, sittinf behind your keyboard typing away all day. Not sure you contrbute to marshall or even come to games or anything of value. You have a lonely existence to try to push some moral (or immoral) agenda because i shared information on a site to do just that.

  • Excuse me? How did YOUR mother get into this discussion?

    YOU... brought up... HIS... mother.

And, still in the queue, awaiting your reasoned and/or apologetic response...

    1. Explanation for how those two statements are both accurate (see EDIT above).

    2. Some direct quote from me that demonstrates what you thought was an example of "circular logic."

    ...and most importantly...

    3. Whether you can agree that some degree of discernment ought to come into play... ie...

    Quote
One, you ask yourself, "Would his mom care that I'm telling everyone what she told me?"

Two, you ask yourself, "What's the potential harm in agreeing with the NE coaches' story? Who's hurt by that?"

  • Bottom line is Dobson is not getting much PT and since NE has been rolling, I doubt that changes anytime soon.

Bickering aside, just watching him play several times, it appeared to me that he was somewhat aloof and not really engaged.  I also read a few comments from Brady that seemed to insinuate that Dobson was not taking his job/development very seriously. If that really is the case his chance of landing somewhere else is slim.  When free agent guys who are picked up after season starts are on depth chart higher than you it should be of some concern.

Hope he gets it together soon.

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

Bickering aside, I defer to you and others... I couldn't say if he seemed aloof and not really engaged. But, no bickering intended, the Boston Herald article (see other thread) seems to share some information that somehow evaded me, and might explain how a person might be a little distracted.

I would like to see the Brady comments, since that too, somehow evaded me... the most I could find was this, and truly, even if one assumes Brady is specifying the WR position, which he doesn't, it seems a bit of a stretch that he's calling out any one WR in his quote:

    http://www.sportsworldreport.com/articles/34410/20141001/patriots-rumors-tom-brady-questions-brandon-lafell-danny-amendola-aaron-dobson-talent-julian-edelman-rob-gronkowski-bill-belichick-offense.htm

And fwiw, the statement made by Belichick was about as firm as you can make a statement:

"In written statement issued after his terse exchange with the media, Belichick — or whichever New England media relations rep wrote the press release for him — went into greater detail, saying that Dobson “has always been respectful to me and to the rest of the coaching staff. He has never once been argumentative or confrontational,” and condemning rumors of the “loud disagreement” with McDaniels as “completely false.”

Acknowledged that coaches can say whatever they want to say. But, let's be fair... reporters can say whatever they want to say, too. It's always been "rumors."

I think, especially in light of what the Boston Herald article conveys, the first people to give Aaron Dobson the benefit of a doubt ought to be you and me... us... all of us.

And sorry, but I'm suddenly even more a little suspicious of people who claim to have insider knowledge. I can't imagine that a mother who would affirm the rumors wouldn't also make mention of how hard AD's had it emotionally having lost two people close to him. That just doesn't seem to be the kind of thing a mother would leave out of a conversation on the topic. But maybe that's just me being overly skeptical, who knows.

  • Although the trade deadline has passed, I was hoping the Bengals would have traded a low round draft pick for him.  This would give the Patriots an extra pick and the change of scenery may do Dobson some good.

Wouldn't mind seeing, a 3 WR set of AJ Green, Mohamed Sanu and Aaron Dobson.
