A source at Marshall confirmed that nonqualifier Von Davis has left the MU campus.

Davis, a 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back from Mount Dora, Florida, was ranked the No. 78 cornerback in America by the recruting-oriented Rivals website. His list of reported offers included Arizona, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Wisconsin.

The source said a report that Birdsong “secretly” went across the river to Proctorville, Ohio, for magnetic resonance imaging tests are false, that he had the test done in a Huntington hospital. Also, the source said Birdsong did not have his ribs X-rayed.
