  • Thanks to Dave Wilson at the Metro News because he got me thinking. In your perspective, who's the MVP so far? Please take a minute to explain your choice.

  • It was a toss up for me between Lang and McKelvey. The defense has really played better than expectations I think and in no small thanks to those two. they're all over the field and 8 out of 10 times one of the two names is called. Lang wins out for the high profile performance against Purdue.

  • If Reaves run back against Ohio would have stood (late game return) I would absolutely vote Reaves. He is definitely deserving. What a season.

I have to go with Williams. He's been stone cold and has helped our defense in a major way by flipping the field on numerous occasions. Our defense has stood tall when it counts even in some difficult situations.

  • I'll go with special teams. Tyler and Reeves have been great. FG kicking is good too.

  • I know he didn't play last game hardly and all but Devon Johnson has about 450 total yards and 4 TDs. Gary Thompson has 2 sacks and 5 TFL. But from this list I unfortunately had to pick Tyler Williams because he's punted 30 times, downed about half of them inside the 20 and is still averaging about 46 yards a punt. The only team that's punted more than Marshall this year so far: Kent State.

Also the defense, it's kind of gone unnoticed because teams are scoring on us some but they're allowing 4 ypc and 5 YPA in the air, we've forced the most punts of any team in the nation, 9.5 per game. The problem is our opponents are running 80 plays per game because the offense has gone 3 and out so much.

  • ALL special teams...

I second that notion.  We have won the special teams battle in each game

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • I'd say Reaves but it seems like every good return he has that doesn't go to the house our offense goes 3 and out and doesn't even get a first down.

It really is a tough call but I'd say McKelvey due to him coming back from yet another injury and being all over the field each game.

  • All 4 have made significant contributions this season.  Without any of them, we could easily be 1-3 instead of 3-1.
