Topic: Women's Basketball: Herd Defeats URI By 10

It wasn't a pretty game.  The Herd wasn't hitting their 3's
like normal, but just enough to keep a lead.  You could say
it was winning ugly.  But the Herd played very good defense
and played a scrappy, ball-hawking game.

Rhode Island is a good team.  Syracuse beat them by only 3.
They had some big players and could really hit the 3, but our
defense was on them most of the time. 

The Herd is now 3 - 0 going into the Sunday game.

Thats awesome. I tried to follow the game when I got home, but herdzone or espn didn't have anything going. Can you not follow live stats for our womens team?

There should be either live stats or game tracker. You can also follow Grant Traylor on twitter, he keeps a decent running account of most of the games.  Or follow Herd WBB on twitter, they keep updates coming.

Flyhawk, have you tried the MU student radio station?  They do the women's home games, at least (not sure about all the road contests).  Try www.Marshall.edu/wmul.

A side note:  At the afternoon shoot around, a Herd
player was walking to the dressing room and the URI team started
trash talking the Herd to her.  Not good.  Just what the Herd players
needed to fire up their defense.  You could see it in their eyes.  Now
you know why the Herd had an extra bit of energy when they played
the Rams.  👍
