  • If we win do we get home field?  I noticed they haven't said either way but they would have to give it to us right?  Is there any way they would give it to LA Tech?? I hope CUSA doesn't try to screw us again on home field.

  • How about we take care of WKU before putting the cart before the horse? AD sent an email to reserve CUSACG tickets. Again, lets take care of business down there and then start buying tickets to a game we don't know if we'll get in let alone host.

  • I'm just curious how they couldn't have a definitive by now.

Here are the tie breakers. In all likelihood, Marshall is in good shape with a win. If Southern Miss wins the West it is definitely in Huntington. If Louisiana Tech wins, then it goes down to CFP playoff and computer rankings.

Currently in the Massey Computer Rankings Composite - Louisiana Tech is #58, Marshall #59. That is with big games to play that could flip them. La. Tech has UTEP and then closes out with the division on the line against Southern Miss. A Marshall win over a WKU team that edged La. Tech, might just be enough to overtake them, but its too close to call.

  • C-USA can't say anything official because if there's a 7-1 tie between Marshall/La Tech or WKU/So Miss, the first tiebreaker will be if the playoff committee has anybody ranked that week.

If the committee doesn't rank either team, the tiebreaker is the highest ranked team among the average of the 6 computer polls used in the BCS days (with the highest and lowest for each team thrown out).

As I've posted in other threads this week, it seems almost certain that the Marshall/WKU winner would come out on top in those polls. It's also unlikely the committee ranks La Tech or So Miss so it seems that the game in Bowling Green is for a home championship game.

I doubt it. That loss to muts may have doomed us. La tech has a slight lead in the computers now.

  • We're still ahead of La Tech (57.25/58.5). Even if we fell slightly behind this weekend, I'm confident a win over WKU (42nd in Massey Composite) would do more than enough to make up the ground compared to a hypothetical La Tech win over USM (73rd in Massey Composite).
