Topic: Marshall opens hoops season at Tennessee

HUNTINGTON — At long last, Marshall gets to play a basketball game that counts in the win-loss column.

The Thundering Herd opens its season tonight at Tennessee (7 p.m., SEC Network) as one of two remaining Division I teams without an official game. Alcorn State also opens its season tonight against Grand Canyon, meaning the 2015-16 college hoops campaign is in full swing.

“We play Tennessee, an SEC school, a Power 5 conference school,” said Ryan Taylor, Marshall’s leading returning scorer. “It can’t get any better than that.”

Now we will know what it is like playing before 15-20,000 fans.  :o  Lord help us. I attended many Vol bball games when I lived in Knoxville. A great experience.  GO HERD
