  • I feel like we are worn down a little.  I hope we can regroup and get our spark back.  I couldn't watch it tonight so I can't really comment too much but I hope we find our groove again.  We have to remember also we have played very solid teams lately.

It seemed like we did and then would get right back in it.  Just went back and forth and went their way in the end.  Really wanted this win for our guys!!!  I thought it was really important for their confidence going forward but this team is resilient and getting uab early when we are a little fresher may be good.

  • We lost the game because we choked at the foul line.

  • They won because they got to the line. So many lefties.

  • Fouls shots, Taylor fouls and letting number zero drive the lane all night. Gave it away. Need to regroup quick.

probably the sloppiest home game we've played all yr.  if not, definitely since elmore became eligible.  sloppy ball-handling.  careless TOs.  guys took many too many hi-risk chances tonite.

A LOT of that was due to La Tech's length.  In that way they are very similar to UAB - but longer.  Their length disrupted a lot of the passing lanes that the Herd typically uses and/or looks for.

I agree with my brother -- I think the hierarchy right now is: UAB; La Tech; Marshall/MTSU; UTEP; ODU (slightly re-arranged from the standings).  All of these teams are capable of getting hot and winning the tournament, although UTEP and ODU will have tougher rows to hoe because of the extra game (or at least likelihood of an extra game).

Agree. But Tech was the most athletic league team we'll play. They are quick and get their hands up. They forced many of the TO's.

Looks like 4th place with a win Saturday. We picked the worst time to start playing poorly.

at worst 4th place, get a couple breaks and we could be 3rd still.

  • I really think that if it went into overtime, we would have won. They had two guys foul out and Hamilton had four fouls, but then a freshman guard hits a half-court shot with no time on the clock. . . It wasn't meant to be.

We've got a good team, but we just played three pretty good teams. No one in the league has blown us out; we've played everyone tough. If we can get hot in the tournament, then watch out!

Is that your opinions ion because I'm pretty sure the worst the Herd can do is finish 5th.

yeah, if we win saturday, worst we can do is 4th. left out that qualifier at the beginning. oops.

win saturday, the worst we can do is 4th, a couple cases where we could end up 3rd.

Yep. A #4 seed puts all out B'ham games in the afternoon. A 3 seed gives us an evening game Thursday and Friday.
Today, I consider myself, the luckiest man on the face of the earth..

To recap Herd-La. Tech in C-USA hoops tonight: LT men win on last-second half-court heave. Herd women win on shot after horn by LT. WOW!
