  • one beat plenty of other good FB teams besides Marshall..handily at that. The other coulda lost by a FG at home three diff times. Now Chase back with V Horn and a yr exp at home. I like our odds on that one

  • It's time to regain, "Herd Respect!" We're no longer "respected and feared" by our peers.

  • Does anyone on the board know the distribution/location/make-up of the media that votes on these things?

  • MU will be favored in every conf game except SM...barring injuries....and they have a new staff.

Heater really emphasizing shutting down run better this year....that will be the key vs those 2.

I like our chances.  Nobody remembers where you start, just where you finish.

"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • That's why they play the games!

If Marshall gets all the wrinkles ironed out, they will be very capable of winning the East again and CUSA.
Here's to a injuries free season!!

  • Maybe it's because we have only one league title since we've been in CUSA? MT is the fluffy pick but we have them at home and I don't think they beat us at the Joan. Jmo

I agree, MUTS squeaked by us twice at home, but we throttled them here.  WKU is a different animal.  The only way to beat their system is to sell out and kill the QB.  Something we've failed to do twice and their O-line is still there.  I know they don't have Doughty, but they do have their receivers and the next guy learned from Doughty and plays in the same system.  I expect they're gonna have a Cato to Froh type progression rather than a Cato to Birdsong type progression.  It will still take everything we have to beat them.

By the same token, if we'd blitzed Doughty and got him off his game, like every other team that beat them that year, they wouldn't have had a 40 point head start.  We're not gonna score every time, but it doesn't mean we have to let them.
