  •  ??? Still, have a good chance to win CUSA or at least enough for a bowl game. This team is young. 2017 is ours.

  • Guess we should maybe be careful what we wish for. Myself included. How many times have we heard strength of schedule strength of schedule?
Well we got what we wished for last couple of weeks.
Maybe a need a N. Tex and a Charlotte this season to help us beat a S. Miss and MTSU.

A lot of teams are young and winning. With all the "attrition" we seem to have on a yearly basis, I wouldn't put my money on 2017, because we might even be younger!

I imagine we are going to get everyone's best efforts. Regardless of how 'bad' they may be overall, its always tough when you get a bad team's best.
Marshall, despite their shortcomings, are still in the top tier of the conference.

  • Give it a few weeks, and we can feel good after winning over charlotte, ODU, and north texas, FIU, FAU. What an accomplishment, then those losses to decent teams like usm,  mtsu and wku come along. We slip up to one of those 5 scrubs, and we aren't even getting a bowl game in cusa 3.0. Let that sink in.

  • ODU will be decent I think. I think we win at least 2 vs the conference "powers"

It pains me to say, you're right about CUSA 3.0.. I think we will play in a bowl as a reward to say, be happy and content to play in the Bahamas Bowl, lol.. On serious said note, We need to play like we did in the second half of the Pitt game. Chase still concerns me with his inaccuracy, he continues to over throw his receivers. Coach Legg hasn't adapted to a different type of QB, we have in Litton as oppose to Cato. We need to start winning again to build our confidence. The challenge will be, how do you get up for those teams you mentioned, Charlotte, ODU, North Texas, FIU, and FAU.? One game at a time.

  • We are all disappointed with our play so far.We can either give up or support the team in conference play.I prefer to be a supporter rather than a constant complainer.

I believe we win the next 3 based on "talent" and less on "coaching".  However, then comes SO. Miss and later MTSU and WKU, the "conference powers".  These 3 teams have one thing in common:  a quality passing attack.  I believe their QBs are at least of the caliber of the Akron QB who torched our D pretty good.  One or two of these QBs may be the equal, or better, of Pitt's Peterman (sp) as a passer.  So, unless somehow Doc and staff can develop something resembling a pass rush, and somehow coaching up our cornerbacks on the fundamentals of playing pass defense, we could easily be looking at 3 more defeats.  Result: a 6-6 record which insures the Herd a spot in the Commode Bowl versus a "Podunk State" opponent from the MAC or Sun Belt!!

I don't even want to go there regarding 2017. We have a long way to go. We play at MT and WKU in 2017.
