  • I hope we go into Charlotte and keep the foot on the gas. They brought an inferior team to Huntington and beat us on our own turf. I like their program and everything, but I hope we make a statement there.

  • I hope we're playing the same defensive players in the 4th quarter as we did last night; that'd be plenty good enough for me.  If we can play them even in the thrid, that'd be fantastic.  Great time to play hearts out in the first half and get some playing time for some other folks so that they're ready as the season roles on.  Can't overlook anyone, but I wish it was two weeks from yesterday; back in the Joan.

  • any idea why we didn't see X? Doc has never liked mopping up with the 2nd teamer, and when pressed into service, Morrell and Froh did good jobs, but a little game speed may not have hurt.

  • They are a "run first" team.  They brought an inferior team and beat us BECAUSE they ran the ball and ran over us.  If we can play great run defense this year we have a good chance to win and COVER the spread.  If they run over us like they did last year, we will lose an the number will be irrelevant. The numbers only show 184 yards rushing, but all of us who were there and saw it, know that they ran over us.  A lot of 7-8 yard rushes and importantly for them, 16 rushing 1st downs. We just couldn't stop Kalif Phillips --- fortunately for us, GRADUATION has stopped him this year!!!!

    Go Herd!

"When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows. And if you do that, if you do that, we cannot lose."

  • This Charlotte team is light years worse than last years. Not that we should ever lose more than 1 out of 10 to them, but this game should be a bye week for our guys if they play the first half like they can.

  • Still, we can't overlook them and they will be hyped to the max. As Grant Traylor said, the Phil Ratliff/Lambert connection and the fact they beat us last year will have their guys fired up. We have to come out like Cincy and start fast, stomp on them early and put it away. We do that, I think that really shows we have the right mindset and definitely have moved on from last year.

A major beat down of Charlotte would be nice to watch.

  • i get it, but i still want to scratch my head at calling last yr's Charlotte "inferior".  i believe it's obvious we were an inferior team that got beat.
