  • Please clarify, HM or herdorbust, whether he was enrolled at AB this semester or not.  Is he currently enrolled at MU?  Will he have to sit out till the start of 2018-19 season or until start of second semester in 18-19?  Thanks in advance!

I can't answer that question. When I asked him when he could start, he told me he could practice in January but couldn't play until next year. I wasn't specific enough in the question to know if he meant November or December.

  • He was recruited heavily in high school by AB and Fairmont State. Coach Calhoun of Fairmont State took the Youngstown St job. He committed to YSU as a walk-on. However, Calhoun didn't return any phone calls that he placed with the staff. He then reached out to AB and signed a LOI to accept a $30,000 full ride to AB. He was up there for the first month of school and apparently withdrew.

  • i could be wrong but its seems there are some many choices for prospective student athletes these days, so many influential pushes and pulls that it's tough to make decisions.  i wish MU BB and Murphy best outcomes

  • Just speculating, but maybe the reason he cannot practice is because he isn't currently an enrolled student.  Given that we are just hearing about him coming to Marshall and the semester began about 6 or 7 weeks ago

  • I wonder if AB released him from his LOI? Plus wouldn't he have to sit out a year if attended AB and left for MU?

  • If he enrolled at AB then he is a transfer that has to sit out a year.  If he signed an LOI and they don't release him he sits out a year and loses that year of eligibility. There is a difference between LOI rules and transfer rules (I learned that from Jon Elmore)
