Not entirely impressed with Kinsey on paper. No big time offers, very skinny, player. Needs to add 40lbs to his frame at least.
~Not only that......but if I am not mistaken I thought I read where he only made 2nd team all-state in his school category.
Everybody slow your roll.......You guys said the same the about Jannson last year. He made all-county, but didn't get a sniff at all-state. If i'm not mistaken, Phil Bledsoe was something REAL big. My point being, people are getting hung up on labels. Let's see how things shake out.
These are young kids that naturally, mature and get bigger. What matters is that he can play in DD system........you have to be able to see where they will be to 3-4 years....
~To be among the elite in our coverferance or outside.....in the future we ALSO NEED a few that can have much playing time or even start as freshmen.
Agreed. If anything the tournament showed, especially against WVU is that Herd players need to get bigger and stronger to compete at an elite level and for all the positive talk about these recruits, I'm not seeing it in terms of physical development. Unless this changes, last season may turn out to be an aberration.
not to mention how many highly rated recruits did DD run off when he first arrived....K Canty, C Thomas.....
And the best decision danny has made. Those 3 were total trouble. You cant build a program with kids like that.
We have no idea what DD would have done with those players, as I recall Iona won a couple conference titles with a couple of those players. Reminds me somewhat that often times when we lose a recruit Marshall 'cooled' on them. I am with DD, that doesn't mean as a bball fan I am required to be 100% in on his every move.
You realize we did have 2 freshman that started during our run, dont you? And another first or second off the bench. Once he gets it going and developed physically, it becomes much easier with depth.
Evidently you do not realize......that I am not not so smart.......if not you should!!! Should we stick with waiting until our players are juniors and seniors to be developed physically. There were several times this season we couldn't even run with some of the teams. Does one just assume we can't recruit stronger, quicker players....how many strength and conditioning coaches have we had in basketball and football in the last 5 years or so. How about you wait and see just how "fast and quick" the Bennett and Cook guys are.....IMO they can't stay "in the hunt" longer than 10 minutes before being taken out of the game for a breather.
