Maybe because some of the things that are heard are either not confirmed or are from sources that aren't 110% reliable.  I hear stuff from the inside, but until I can get it confirmed, I'm not putting it out there.......or here as the case may be.

There is no one whose opinion I respect more than yours TRS, but the fact we are talking eligibility concerns this far along in a player's career makes little sense. If we did due diligence on him I suspect some of these issues were apparent, so why bring him on board. I think it is a fair discussion.

So Quickstrike is "casting stones". I think we can have an honest discussion about a kid on a message board and his eligibility. No one is "beating him up" or "casting stones".

Maybe because some of the things that are heard are either not confirmed or are from sources that aren't 110% reliable.  I hear stuff from the inside, but until I can get it confirmed, I'm not putting it out there.......or here as the case may be.

Again, why? The nightly news isn't factual. Do you think people come on a message board and expect "110% reliable" info 110% of the time as if it was the _____ (I can't think of a reliable factual news source)? Heck no. Is it the fan's job to get it right all of the time, NO! Message boards are for rumors, speculation, hot topics, DISCUSSION, etc.

I'm not sure why we are suddenly holding this message board to a higher standard than our country's MAJOR media outlets. It's a message board. If everything has to be verified 3 times, fact checked, etc...we might as well shut it down...because we'll never discuss anything remotely interesting.

I cant speak to other's reasons. Mine is personal preference.  If i can verify what i have heard i will share it. I'm not going to throw something out there that i have heard from my cousin's next door neighbor who's mail man delivered mail to the ex boyfriend of the girl who was pet sitting for the elementary school classmate of a prospect who read on myspace .......yada yada yada.

I see nothing wrong here as his name was brought up in "end of semester" talk.  So grades could be a potential issue.  If not, then good for him.  Obviously something is going on as his name keeps popping up.

I think the best way to look at it in Cook's case is - if he is on the team this coming season and contributing - be pleasantly surprised. That's gravy. jmo.
