  • Why does he have to base it on anything other than he is a fan and has faith in the Herd?

Because it has no basis in reality. We averaged about 27 ppg last year. Increasing our offensive score output by about 60% is highly unlikely. There were only 4 teams in all of d1 that averaged more than 44 ppg which is that 17 point increase Eman says will happen. I’m fine with being optimistic but irrational is another story

  • Renalds, Henry and Obialo need to be playmakers and the OL has to be better run blockers but I agree the scheme and strategies have a lot to do with that. Doubt that Lil Miami is any better than 4th best MAC team. Maybe not even that.

Well Obi was going with the 1s majority of the summer.   Johnson was getting some time behind Williams in the slot.  You will see several WR sweeps this yar.  ;)

  • My guess is that you will see both play.  Game day will be here soon.  We will have to see what happens then!

  • I personally believe our defense is being under hyped and will make up for any QB shortcomings we have.

And I have a sneaking suspicion, 785, that the same thing may apply to our ground/running game, too.

Hopefully, between the running attack, special teams, and our D, in combination, we can come out of Oxford  with a W on September 1st, without having to rely that much on our passing attack.

  • Get your money ready and make some calls, because believe it or not, the Herd opened as 2.5pt underdogs in Oxford!

I've never done this before but really want to. How do I place a bet?

  • And you are basing that on what exactly?

I agree with him and I base it off of watching Sam Houston State games from last season.

Let’s see. Cramsey was oc for one season. Their offensive ppg went down under him. I’m not saying our offense will be putrid but I don’t think our points per game will increase 60%

Don't lay that game on Cato. Sure he threw a few early picks to put us in the hole, but we should have come out running with a healthy Stew Butler instead - WKU soon proved that they couldn't stop him.

And don't forget Doc's call for a late FG from the 6-inch line. Blame Doc or Legg but not fair to blame Cato.

Or run one freaking blitz package on the QB known for folding under the blitz all year, that year.  Our defensive scheme gave Daughty all day to sit and pick us apart.
