  • You guys are reading way too much into this. For better or worse, Doc always gives away as little information to the media as he possibly can. And I don't think that's a bad thing. What could possibly be gained by telling people you're going to start Green?

Green will be starting against Miami barring an injury or a huge turnaround in Thomson's health and performance.

I dont think we are reading to much into it at all. Doc is the one that said he wanted a starting QB sooner than later. And its only to keep Miami from preparing? Well what do we do for game 2-3-4 etc? Are we going to promote morrell as the starter as a switch and bait for week 2? Are we that worried about the mac miami?

  • Well..Doc had no way of knowing that AT had a bum wing again. If he's healthy now and looking very good its stands to reason more evauation is called for. And I could care less which one as long as he has moxy.

  • I take it as saying we are in trouble.

This is exactly it. Doc knows Green isn't the answer or he'd call it. But Thomson isn't healthy. This is real trouble.

  • Green is performing better in the summer in terms of tds and completion percentage than Litton ever did.  I think our qb play will be better statistically than under Litton.

Or the staff evaluated Thomson as a good qb but are finding out that Green is better and are left stunned bc they promised a transfer qb a job. Green has done nothing wrong to think he can’t be a
Herd all time great one day.   Chase Litton never went 15-21 200yds in a scrimmage here against the 1s.  Every summer Litton would complete 50-55 percent against our 1s

His last scrimmage he had 214 yards and 4 tds. Lol. Some have revisionist history. Chase also threw over 60% completion % in his career. Liable to miss that guy you hate so much, come that trip to Oxford. Green situation reminds me of graham so much. People want him to be good so much, they are blinded by it. If he was good, Doc would have named him the starter. There isn't a master plan. Doc clearly has always stated he wants a QB to separate and run with it early to cement the team in camp. I doubt a starting job was promised. If AT isn't the QB we thought he was, then we are in for a long crappy road. Green is a 6-6 QB.

  • Litton had a lucky summer day.  Have a link to that scrimmage of Littons, Goherd?  I wish Chase Litton the best.  As a Herd qb never impressed but that doesn’t matter. Bashing Green is the wrong thing to do.  Like last year our defense needs to play well.  I thought Cato had really good Hs film as well as Green. Green will be a stud or a dud. He will not be average.

  • Time to hop on the Green/Cramsey bandwagon boys.

I'm excited to have another 4 years of a good QB.

Ask him what his completion rate was on passes past the line of scrimmage, lol.  He padded his stats with screens and dumpoffs under panic, I mean pressure.

If doc and co didn’t know his arm was hurt that is on them. People on this message board including myself were questioning his health last year when others were anointing him the next coming of Pennington

He threw some screens, courtesy of our lovely OC at the time. I get that Litton wasn't a likeable QB for us, but he was a good one overall. I just hope AT gets healthy for us this season. I belueve we'll see Green at Miami and after a shutout first half, AT will have to come in and try to win the game.

He had surgery on the shoulder last Sept./October. They knew that. Supposedly he threw to Brady and the WR's many times in the summer. I think this is gonna be a case of AT starts and plays as much as he can and doesn't practice but 1-2 days a week once the season gets going. I do expect Green to play some just because I don't think AT can throw the ball 25-30 times a game. We'll see how this plays out. Right now, due to all the uncertainty, I am putting an L by the Miami game. Could be a rough start to the season but we should be Ok once conference play starts. jmho

Talk about negative attitude.  You have no idea how either Green or AT will perform when the lights come on.  I do know this, if Green starts and the Herd wins your plate of crow will be awaiting you.

Mark it down, we will beat Criami! Just having our new OC coach Cramsey is worth 17 points, maybe more than last season. Whom ever our starting QB will be, we will win this game. We have a lot of offensive weapons and a great returning offensive line with a new great coach in Greg Adkins.

  • Renalds, Henry and Obialo need to be playmakers and the OL has to be better run blockers but I agree the scheme and strategies have a lot to do with that. Doubt that Lil Miami is any better than 4th best MAC team. Maybe not even that.

Get your money ready and make some calls, because believe it or not, the Herd opened as 2.5pt underdogs in Oxford!

I'm not saying, we're going to beat Criami by 17 points, however, I do think we will win this game.

  • I say toss up at this time. People are underestimating what it will be like with a qb that has never taken a snap in d1. And 2 new coordinators. I like all 3 changes a lot. But there will be mistakes and growing pains. Byron leftwitch had a horrible start to his career. And cato had some issues as well. We wont just walk into miami with them having a very experienced team and smack them around. Be ready for a real dog fight imo.

  • I am not going to overreact to what happens at Miami...it is a long season and we have an opportunity to have an exciting season even if we lose to Miami..

Rarely have we had an easy time in our he road against a MAC team...
