  • I like this one:  Herd v UVA in Independence https://www.google.com/amp/s/collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/11/18/2018-college-football-bowl-projections-after-week-12/amp/

It would be awesome if we beat VT (assuming that game happens) and have a shot against UVA.

I agree.  The two teams I have seen projected for us to play are Tulane and Troy.  I would love to see us get a shot at Tulane.

  • SB Nation has Mashall vs. Boise in New Mexico. Might be the toughest matchup I've seen, but if you want to play the best possible team, then why not. The only time BSU has struggled has been against shut down defenses.

  • UVA and Boise would be good match ups. Tulane wouldn't be too bad. Although we are slated to play Boise next year anyway.

Boise would be a good game also.  I do like the thought of beating Tulane; I am still passed at their baseball coach’s comments.

  • If it's New Mexico Bowl again, all I could say is that I wished I had deep enough pockets to go to that. We were in NM for about a week 2.5 years ago and we loved it.

  • Win at FIU on Saturday first, becoming 8-3.  If events play out so that we DO get to play Tech on 12/1, that gives the Herd the possibility of 9-3 heading into Bowl selection Sunday, making us a very attractive G5 team for numerous bowls, IMO.

Then, as we've heard on here, ESPN people can do their wheeling and dealing and pulling strings with some conferences.  The result could be a match up, again IMO, with one of the upper echelon teams from the AAC, say a Temple, Cincy, Houston, South Florida or even Memphis.  Boise too could be in play.  Look for Hammy and Doc (and perhaps top administrators in CUSA) to work/lobby hard for one of these opponents ESPECIALLY if the bowl happens to be in Boca or St. Pete/Tampa.  Obviously for recruiting purposes, but also for Herd fans in GA, FL, and elsewhere, including HERE, and for families of numerous Herd players from such states!!!

  • I'm gonna skip the bowl this year and instead spend that money and travel to Charlottesville to watch the basketball team take in UVA.

This team is the most boring 8-9 win team in program history, maybe in college football history. Lol

Agreed. This season is an absolute dumpster fire and CUSA is SO BAD we can still win 8-9 games. But the fanbase isn't fooled anymore, by the sham. Our basketball team is on a national level right now and its fun to be a part of the ride.

  • Fact that Herd's first road game next season, on September 7th, is AT Boise State (after home opener with VMI on Aug. 31st) may make a bowl game with the Broncos this year a little less likely.  But, again, who knows??

I like the UVA possibility. That's a team I've always hoped we could get a series with.
