Can't watch any more of this crap. Worst performance since WKU at home last season. Pathetic in all phases.

Bennett - trying to force offense through Bennett was a bad idea. Was basically like 3 early turnovers. He is clumsy, worthless rebounding, and just bad. I know one day he will help us, but i seriously think we should bench him and play George to start games. Watson off the bench then Beyers, and.bennett when needed. Let him lose the weight and get better in practice.

Williams was our only other player that showed up tonight. He played like a beast, and was our only bright spot.

Elmore, worst game he has played in a Marshall uniform. Pathetic game out of him. Big time players make big plays in big moments. He always has, but he didn't tonight. Can't have play like this out of Elmore.

Burks. See above. Gotta show up in these big games. Both our cornerstone players decided to take the night off.

Not much else to say tonight guys. The officiating was absolutely terrible, but when you shoot like you have never played basketball before, this can happen. We made Maryland look like national champions tonight. We were dominated on the boards as we expected, and Maryland shot well as icing on top. Their #5 was averagong like 29% and looked like Veney tonight. 

As hillbilly said, we as Marshall fans are growing used to being brought down to earth every time we have the hope of being relevant.

I really hope Dan lights a fire under their (@/:; after tonight. This is unacceptable on every level.

This game reminds me of the Davidson game , though it was home , when Donovan was the coach .

We still have plenty of work to do , thats for sure. DD should probably have a closed practice when they get back , its due.

Well, other than hoping some of the absolutely committed guys who think we're loaded with competitive talent will tone it down now, I've got nothing to say twice.  But once, to me this is the worst athletic embarrassment in MU history in well over a decade. Call an occasional time out when your team can't figure it out. please.

I have said before and ill say it again. We have got to get our weight program stepping up. We looked like boys among men tonight physically. Big athletic bigs will do this to us inside every time. Can you imagine what a Gonzaga or duke would do?

Yes they do except for Jannson. Kid played very well. But he was the lone ranger. And everyone else decided to panic and throw up off balanced shots and totally lost their focus on team ball.

Agree with that 100% . He was a victim of some funny calls too.

I was wanting a win or at least a good game as much as anyone.  We shot terribly not named Williams, Elmore/Burks worse games ever inexplicably, refs didn’t allow us to do much on defense, 2nd half effort was awful, etc.  But it’s important not to overreact (ha, i’m talking to Marshall fans!).  We’ll be better after this. We seem to have one of these games every year and get better.  I think Bennett will eventually be good, but he’s a square peg in a round hole.  I have learned not to doubt DD, but not sure why we recruited him to this system.  Thankfully we have more than one opportunity to beat a “name” this year.

Unless we learn to rebound and play better interior D against Big Athletic teams it will be trouble. Outrebounded tonight 52-30!!!! I don't care what system you play you can not do that. And this is exactly what happens playing this style if you have a horrible shooting night. This system works but you better have top notch players at all five spots against really good competition. Overall we have 3 players that will be there virtually every night. Jon, CJ and Williams (I know Jon and CJ was off tonight) but that is our big 3 IMO. Bennett, Beyers and Sustic are just not going to give you that gut check in bigtime games. Maybe Watson and George step up at times along with West. But where are the kids over 6'5" going to come from in bigtime games other than Jannson? That is my concern and that is a huge question for this year. We will be OK in CUSA for the most part. But that is why I say Peneva is the thing that we just don't have this year. Not just his skill on offense. But although he was thin, he brought a smart presence and shot blocking ability on D.

If not a closed practice, CoachSkip, then at least MORE COACHING and less "yuking it up" with fans from boards like this who show up at practice!!

Elmore is over rated. Sorry but he is. Yes he is very good but mentally he loses it. Came down chucking up off balanced shots for no dang reason. Looked like a friggin FR tonight with his shot selections. His defense was atrocious. The guy from MD made Elmore look bad on both ends of the floor.

Kinsey and Watson both need to play more and West needs to sit down on the bench a lot more.

Williams is a beast.

George must have peed in DD's cheerios or something. No reason he doesn't play more than he does.

Bennett is a waste of minutes for the time being. I don't care how good he's going to be one day or how good he could end up being, as of right now HE SUCKS.

Last but not least some of you are the biggest whiners I have ever heard. Refs were not that bad. They were just a lot bigger and a lot more athletic. I'm sure refs missed some calls here and there but the crying from you all is unreal. Refs made zero difference in this game.

Smite it up I don't care. Truth is the truth.

Maybe we better just admit that Bennett will not be ready to be effective this year and put Sustic or Byers in and just leave them in. Byers is scared to death it seems or at least timid but can at least make a free throw and catch a pass. Sustic may foul a lot but at least he can run up and down the floor and gives a good effort. I don’t see how we could be any worse than we were tonight.

Yeah, the player that will end up being Marshalls #1 scorer of all time, is over rated. Smh.

I agree with Bennett, clearly. Kinsey isn't ready for premiere minutes and Watson isn't as effective when teams have good interior defense. West is a great defensive player, and usually an ok scorer.

And if you don't realize the impact the refs had in this game, you don't know basketball very well. It goes beyond cold shooting when you can't play defense, and they can alter our shots and make contact without calls on the defensive end as well. We also had ohantom walk and carry calls back to back that took away two more possessions. It severely limited us, and you couple that with cold shooting and the end result is a blowout.

I’ve said all along Bennett won’t do much this year. Major work in progress, and that’s fine. Sustic, Beyers and George are gonna have to help Jansen for sure.
