  • John logs his 4th best win in 9 seasons. All 4 top wins are G5s. P5's Purdue, Maryland, and Louisville were all ranked in 60's hardly good wins.

So sad 1 win/ 3 pts? shy of Championship game.

  • Unless I had a direct tie to the school, the last thing I would do in Miami is watch a college game.

What metric are you using for this?  Sagarin had FIU 103rd entering the game.

84th, second highest in CUSA after UAB at 73.  No CUSA team in the top half of FBS football.

It’s possible, after today’s results, we could be the highest rated team in CUSA.

  • Agree, it was a quality win against an 8 - 3 opponent, coached by Butch Davis on their field, and them playing for a spot in the Conference Championship game.

Everyone finds their own story; win, lose or draw.

Let's see.  Who could we have beaten today; oh, most likely only the team actually on our schedule.

  • Ol Doc with a chance to win 10 again even without a dynamic QB, a young OL and only two receivers. Woulda had ten last yr if Brady hadnt got hurt. Prob have 9 now if Green healthy all yr. Doc still getting it done.

Probably and probably not.  Would Marshall win the FCS championship?  If you were a fan in the 80s and 90s probably what?  The HC of Martinsburg hs could win 10.  Would Marshall be the favorite to win the FCS Championship right now?

They are dead last in TD percentage in the red zone.

You have to admit, winning 8 or 9 games in this conference isn’t a massive achievement.  I know this will bother some folks but I’m not happy being 8-3.  Not when we return 18 starters.  If we had any coach worth a 💩, we’d easily be 10-1.

Just the opp actually. We dont have the dollars, students or location advantages several league schools boast. FIU pays more than double the COA money we do. Doc isnt the highest paid coach either. Our ath budget not he top. So how is it the conf sucks so bad? We are lucky to do as good as we do. They give scholarships too according to Bob Pruett. We arent Bama or even South Carolina. The whiners say we have a poor coach but think we should win ever game vs guys like Lane Train and Butchie. Thats called talkin outa both side of your jaws.

Tradition …..  we have a winning tradition.  Do you think FLA. guys come here to play bc they care about weather.  They pick Marshall over home state school bc of tradition.  We also once had tradition of putting guys in the NFL.  Been awhile but used too.  School location and size is never a reason FIU or any other florida directional school should ever beat us.  They have nothing to offer but weather.  Excuses excuses.....  Lifelong Herd fan?  A scholarship is a scholarship.  Our facilities and tradition destroy directional Fla schools.  When we lose to these teams it's a terrible L.  When we win it's to be expected.

Can’t wait to see what you find to “post” about if we win out.  If an 8 win season fires you up this much, I can’t wait to see what 10 wins will result in....

No I hear you really this not even a good win. But how many 8 win teams has Doc beat in last 9 years...prob not many if any...that's why I put it in the 4th spot.

Against some of the weakest competition on the planet. 0-1 against teams with a pulse. What a damn accomplishment. Kind of like being the smartest kid on the short bus.

  • Thats not what everyone thought about the Fla schools till we beat their rears. Lots of our competition no diff than 6 or 8 of those MAC powerhouses that Pruett feated on that were all still running two back sets. Like I said..several of these schools in bigger nicer locations with lots more money but spin on brother.

  • The people who hate it when we win a football game should have their own threads so those of us who like a win better than a loss can read about the game..

You mean the Top 25 MAC teams responsible for some the best players in NFL history.  I'm not everyone and besides Fla, Fla State, and Miami all used to get crushed by Marshall.  FIU is sorry.  Fau is sorry.  UCF is good but will take a step back soon.  S.Fla is avg.

I don’t think Jimmy QB from Miami Central asks about the enrollment or endowment of a school when he visits. He asks about facilities and support. In those areas we still lead. Dig?

  • Our second string coulda beat Buffalo, Ball St, CMU, Kent, EMU, Akron etc etc. FIU would beat many of them this yr. FAU even much better last yr. WKU even better still with Doughty. We are right where we belong till our rich uncle arrives.

6-6 Buffalo beat FAU last year...  Lance Leopole would get us winning again against these crappy teams.
