  • With those who think John is doing a good job for us, why hasn’t any other program wanted to interview him?  All these open jobs and nary an interview.  Like it or not, the Marshall job is a stepping stone for a big P5 job assuming the coach can have a couple really good seasons.  Or they can just have mediocre seasons and hide out in the shewey building until their contract expires.

In this conference, the weakest D1 conference outside of the Ivy League, nothing short of playing for a conference title should be acceptable.  Not saying we should win it every year but I am saying we should be in the conference title game 7 or 8 times out of 10.  We should be to CUSA what Alabama is to the SEC or what Ohio St is to the Big 10.  We’ve won one title during John’s reign here.  That, Sir, is mediocre.

  • QB’s with exception of Cato have been mediocre at best! Doc is not as I have said many time recuiting to the ACC or SEC levels he had coached in prior to becoming head coach at Marshall. Why????????

Because the head Coaches he served under demanded that level of recruit......MH has not much less Doc of himself!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fix is in folks you been told and if mediocrity is the level your satisfied with by all means stay there but, take the Fountain, the run to the cemetery and the 75 out of the equation because this is not honoring anyone! Doc is not and has not kept his word going all the way back to his opening statements and after almost a decade....where are WE! Do not give crap about facilities because we had nothing like this from the 70’s through until Hammie got here before Doc!

Yes facilities are important but not as important to Marshall as was the standard of winning that was accomplished into the 90‘s that made us the darling of colleg football by WINNING! WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Well %^&*, why not then have The Herd play against pee wag flag football 6 and 7 year olds. I bet we could go 10-0 every year? But the big question is, would that make us a good college football team. By your definition I guess it would...since we won 10 games. By everyone else in the world, no.

A dang near 7 wins a year are guaranteed in this conference...(although someone didn't tell John that in 2016)...so 1 above 7 is pretty mediocre at best. We could still be a bad team (meaning we would get our world rocked by fellow G5's Boise/UCF) and still finish the year with 8-10 wins in this conference.

We have to ask ourselves 2 questions each year (despite how many wins we racked up against cupcakes):

    1. Did we play for a Championship?
    2. Did we beat any teams in the top 50 of college football?

If the answer to both of those questions is NO... I don't care if we have 10 wins...it was a crappy year.
