ACL?  Worse than that?  Ever play again?

  • Just remember if it’s season ending Doc will disclose it, he said so. Must not be too bad. Just day to day.  :P

  • My guess he will be able to play in a bowl game, at least that’s what they are likely hoping for.

  • Anybody know how long they think it will be before Keion Davis is back?  Chances for Blacksburg this week?

  • We never know whose playing until they take the field. Heck that’s when we even learn of injuries for the most part.

  • If his knee is shredded get the kid healthy. Injury should not have happened to begin with. It was poor judgement by the staff.  But it appears to be serious.

I refuse to blame the coaches for the King injury. Anderson and Davis were both out, well Anderson was hurt, and at that point no one else on the team had a carry in a game and had probably not received too many practice snaps.  Running backs can be injured on any play, just like everybody else on the field, but still, any injury is a fluke.  A guy can carry 600 times in his college career and never get a knee injury while another guy gets a career ender on his first carry.   You sub for experience, not fear of injury.

With that said, I have a feeling it was a season ending injury and we are just not being told despite Doc's word.

I disagree, you don't risk a chance of injury with a game well in hand. You sub to protect players from that in a blowout.

Okay. So do you take out your starting line, QB, Receivers, TE and all the starting defense also?  How about your kicker, punter, and holder?  Also, at what point should all 22 starters been removed from the game?

Case by case.  In King's case you are up big with about 4min to go.  Get him out of the game bc it's very late and you are already down two backs.  Qb should be out of the game as well.  Some ol too.  Build your depth.  The game was over!!  King's healthy for S.Miss do we win the game?

  • Sounds like Davis is finished.  He had a nice run here.  He just looked hurt this year.  Legs looked to be old and tired.

Sheldon Evans is probably a good back too.  Rivals #36 best rb in nation.  Ahmad Bradshaw was ranked that I believe.  I think we pound 3 rbs against VT.  Pass 18-25 times.  Just physically pound them.  Anderson (240) / Knox (215) / Evans (215) - Pound the rock!  VT gives up over 5ypc.  Ga Tech lit them up giving them worst defeat of the year.  We all know GT pounds the rock.

    Sheldon Evans brief evaluation

This!! One of my biggest complaints about Doc. He has never been good at developing bench strength. Maybe a hangover fear from losing the WVU game he should have won, but he always keeps starters in too long. He's even worse at playing backup QBs.

  • except our 4th string back is getting 100 a game

Urban Meyer a decent coach had his soph QB who is very imp to Buckeye hopes in till the end vs Mich with a huge lead

Urban Meyer is well not so smart. He’s proven that.  Plus this is about the Rb position.   Would Bob Pruett or Tom Coughlin had Doug Chapman or Ahmad Bradshaw in up 3 scores with 4 min to play.  No... especially already being down 2 of your top 3 backs.  Herm Edwards lost Pennington to a year playing him in a meaningless game with backups. In sports in general you live for another day.  Win and pull out. Build your entire team. It’s too easy Coach too easy.

Can't blame coaches unless he was already nursing an injury.  Players get seriously injured in practice too at times. Let it go.  I think Evans has a chance to be a very special back and Knox is pretty good too.

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • We all know what they say about hindsight, but with two seniors hurt, that seemed like a good time to give your freshman back some touches.

    LOL

    Wait are you serious?

There is a big difference between a bad decision and a person not being smart.  Being smart has gotten Meyer one of the highest paid and highest profile jobs in his profession.  Not once but twice.  The first being at Florida.  Meyer got those jobs and had/is having success at both schools because he is smart.

I'm not an Ohio State or Urban Meyer fan by any stretch of the imagination but give credit where credit is due.
