Sad, but very true.  For me, not so much in the loss to a good Maryland team, but to the fact that it is still a team sport and poise and trust matter.  IMHO, the second half was poorly coached and poorly played; lack of team ball, which is also IMHO lack of trust and poise.

I sat right behind the bench and it was very obvious that Danny was disappointed in us not moving the ball. With our offense we MUST do that. It wasn't by lack of Danny not telling them.
Even with that, we had wide open looks that just didn't drop.

To me it seems that when it becomes evident that the game is not being called the same at both ends -like USPAM last year- that the latest editions of the Herd just go nuts. Which is no formula for overcoming adversity. With 3 senior guards, counting 30+ games under their belts last year, that cannot happen and still bring home the bacon.

I would hope that the practices since the Maryland game would focus on correcting our mistakes.  I think I remember last year after a disappointing loss, we typically came back strong the next game.  Hope they are able to do that this year.  Sign of good leadership if we can.  I have confidence that will happen.

They worked hard yesterday at practice, for sure. They also spent more time in the film room before practice. They always take a ton of shots everyday but took even more yesterday.
They usually wrap up at 5:00 on Monday but yesterday went until 6:00. Heck, it almost made me late for dinner at Fat Patty's coach's show.

Back to some of the above game results.  Makes one wonder will Southern Miss. will be a contender for the upper echelon in the league or not.  So far both North Texas and FAU have been piling up the Ws in OOC play.  Not so sure how good their opposition has been, but appears that these 2 teams may be improved in 2018-19.
