My thoughts exactly ... Doc can recruit ONE place and not very well there, mainly props or kids with other problems that other schools pass on ... but we take a bowl there against a lesser opponent every chance we get to A Keep his streak alive, B bolster that single area where he has some recruiting clout, C keep John happy so he won’t be “stolen away” since he produces the best coached and best conditioned teams in the country and has the master plan.

These game means %^&* to me. We had our chance to win a game that meant something at VT yesterday. I wish I'd saved my time and money, made that drive like not so smart thinking maybe Doc would do it this time. I don't give a damn if we beat USF and neither does anyone else.

I think some on here forget the days of the Motor City Bowl. Tampa is a much better venue.

Flight arranged, tickets bought, now just waiting to find out where to stay and how to get tickets through MU (even though they'll cost me a few bucks more). 

Plan on enjoying some St. Pete time, seeing the Herd and flying cost-effectively out of CVG to Punta Gorda.  Looking forward to a great Christimastide get-away.

Sorry so many of you remain disappointed.  I would have preferred Minnesota too, but could not have been able to make that game...

As he should be, a great opportunity for the team, the athletic department, and the school.  If you've never been to Tampa (meaning the St. Pete area) for a bowl game, I'm hopeful you could make it this year.  Unreal vacation, and the Herd will be there too...

SF fans upset they’re not playing an ACC team. It looks like ESPN pulled some strings at the last minute for this matchup, per their board.

Losing five straight games will not exactly ingratiate you to ESPN which runs the bowl game in question. They (ESPN) probably want a near even match up for ratings purposes.

Looks like a good opponent from decent conference.  I'd say we are fortunate to be going there.  Would agree.....much better then Detroit, I remember those trips.

I loved the trip to the Beef O Brady's Bowl in this area...many things to do and great weather...I also like the opponent...just wish it was a weekend or over the Christmas break.

Yep, if it were 2 days later or 5 days earlier it would have been much more convenient. But hey, it's all about TV programming for ESPN.

Do you know we turned down a chance to play a P5 somewhere?  That would have been nice too.  But otherwise, a chance to play and beat an AAC team is very attractive, and should be for the AD as well.  We need to beat other G5s.

At least they got the game out of that hideous Tampa Rays baseball stadium and moved it outdoors to the Buccaneers one. I wouldn't bet MLB lasts too much longer in the Bay area there. They or Miami have the lowest attendance in the majors.
