How does thus hurt anything? At worst we break even financially, although I think we will make money. It allows fans to watch more Herd basketball (how is that bad?) and as was said by Herdorbust, it allows the newer team members to have more practice time. If you don't like it, stay home and read a book or something. There are many of us that enjoy watching OUR team play no matter the opponent and on top of that at AT HOME!

I never said it was bad to play in this tournament for the right reasons. I think its BS we are playing in the tournament for the sole purpose of letting Elmore break the record.

There are 130 D1 football teams. 72 go to bowls. That 's 55%, not 67% as you implied. If you want to spout off, spout off, I will listen, but get your facts straight.

I am a football first fan, but I sure as heck don't root against DD or the basketball team. I have tickets for Tuesday night.

i do have my facts straight. There are way more % football teams that go to bowl games than basketball teams going to tournaments FACT!!!! And i also go to some football games. And want marshall to do well in both. But dont act like those bowl games we go to are anthing bigtime cause they arent. And danny has never had a cluster like that 3-9 season meltdown, not even close. And that is another fact for you.

There are actually 39 bowls so that's 78/130 (60%). And I believe there will be more next year.

Why are we, sitting here like we are above Robert Morris?

Robert Morris has more Tourney appearances than us and has won more tourney games than us (2).

Presby is relatively new to the D1 ranks. I think they've only played 12 or 13 D1 seasons but they have had some moments.

We went and played in the bigboy tournament in basketball last year. When will the football team get to do that? Fact!!!!

Comparing bowl games to playing in the CIT is laughable. There are 72 bowl teams, all with 500+ records. The CUSA has 6 tie ins that are basically assigned by ESPN, the owner of 90% of the bowls. The payout for bowls is approximately $750,000 less expenses. There are 136 basketball teams playing, many of them with losing records. The CIT, a pay to play tournament (and then you hold your breath waiting to determine if you have enough fans in the stands to pay for the fee) whose teams are selected AFTER the top 100 are grabbed by the NCAA and NIT. The CBI and CIT get the bottom 36 out of the 136.

The love-fest for DD and the hatred for Doc is widening by the day. Why?

I get it that we'll win big in 19-20 and challenge for the National Championship in 21......and that a HS kid will be better than Elmore, but that's why they play the game.

Because Doc doesn't win games that matter, ever. One title in 10 years with a mount rushmore QB, and we won because La Tech har 6 or 7 starters suspended and our kicker played great at home!

And i believe we have just win the east twice in all that time. The east is going to be way down this year. No reason to not be in the championship game.

The east has been the worst conference division in the nation for at least 4 years. Its pathetic. That's why its so unacceptable.

Silly are we not. NCAA basketball tournament 68 teams vs football playoff 4 teams......Both heavily tiled to the power conferences.........I am glad Football does go to Bowl games (and win them) and basketball has finally won a few post season games........
