Robert Morris has a history of playing pretty good ball at the lower mid-major level.

I'm going to root for Presby...they improved from 11-21 (4-14 in the Big South) to 18-15 (9-7 conference) this season. My younger daughter & her husband got their undergrad degrees from Presby.

She sang in the school's praise choir that included some of the football & basketball players. She hates sports, but really enjoyed rubbing elbows with them.  It's a great little school.

MVC co-champ Drake got beat last night.  With ETSU, Drake, and Kent State all losing this week it looks like the field is not at challenging....but still capable.

I’m not sure what anyone expected???  This is the CIT. I’m just glad we are still playing myself.  I’d love to see us win this tournament.  Don’t care who we beat in the process.

The most important team playing is Marshall!!!! Who cares the opponent. A fan is "fanatical" about their team.........Not who they are playing.....

More practice time is huge and it would be good if we were able to win the whole thing. If we lose in this tournament then it doesn't look good at all. If we win the whole thing then its really something to build off of going in to next year.

Were you embarrassed playing in the Motor City Bowl, the St Pete Bowl, the New Mexico Bowl? Basically the same thing, different sport. Enjoy it or don’t go/watch. Sure, it’s not the dance but it’s worth something. As long as the team and our school benefits, that’s all that matters.

We were told we above this type of situation.  I guess not !

The Motor City Bowl actually meant something the first 3 times we went. That was before they things really got out of hand with bowl games.

If Jon wasnt as close to Skips record as he was , we wouldnt have gone . The odds of another player getting Skips record are so slim , im glad he gave Jon a shot.

One would have to ask:  Why would any knowledgeable person, including coaches, be DUMB enough to say, or even think, that MU was "above this type of situation", given our nondescript, even mediocre, basketball history overall going back over 40 years to the Huckaby era?

I personally think its crappy that we are only playing for that reason. I wish we were playing because we were trying to better the program as opposed to padding stats to let someone break a record. Had plenty of opportunities to break the record without having to resort to this.

I have no problem with it. Would have hated to see Elmore only 20 pts shy. Also this gives taylor more practices with the system.

How does thus hurt anything? At worst we break even financially, although I think we will make money. It allows fans to watch more Herd basketball (how is that bad?) and as was said by Herdorbust, it allows the newer team members to have more practice time. If you don't like it, stay home and read a book or something. There are many of us that enjoy watching OUR team play no matter the opponent and on top of that at AT HOME!

The payout for bowls is approximately $750,000 less expenses. There are 136 basketball teams playing, many of them with losing records. The CIT, a pay to play tournament (and then you hold your breath waiting to determine if you have enough fans in the stands to pay for the fee) whose teams are selected AFTER the top 100 are grabbed by the NCAA and NIT. The CBI and CIT get the bottom 36 out of the 136.

The love-fest for DD and the hatred for Doc is widening by the day. Why?

I get it that we'll win big in 19-20 and challenge for the National Championship in 21......and that a HS kid will be better than Elmore, but that's why they play the game.

I am a football first guy. But why people crap on any of our teams is beyond me. Wish our fans were as passionate about donating as they are about posting on a message board.

You are right it is laughable that they would sometimes take a 5 win football team to fill a bowl slot since  2/3 football teams go. They are a bunch of basketball teams sitting home with 20 wins because they turned down the cit or cbi. To bad football teams at .500 dont turn down these sisguating watered down bowl games. Doc and other football coaches have it made. Go .500 and the fans like yiu think they have really done something. Going bowling baby!!!!!!!!!

We had a player a few years ago who finished less than 10 points from 1,000 points. Why didn't we play in the CIT so we could get his 1,000 points?
