I think we know now why yiu never hear anything about injuries. Hamrick said he told kids to not tell anyone. Not even family.
Hearing his statement on this certainly was enlightening. I have a little better understanding of the reasons behind being so tight lipped as far as injuries.
He sounds pretty paranoid and out of touch here if he thinks legal sports gambling is going to make it more likely for a player to get corrupted. For what I assume has been decades now, you can bet football parlay cards that include the Herd in just about every bar in Huntington. The types of people who are gonna try to talk athletes into point shaving aren't gonna be the types who make their bets in the light of day where they can easily be tracked.
I had a different take away from his comments. I HERD him saying that while gambling has been there before legalization, there are now more people gambling than before so there is more incentive to get to the kids.Personally, I like the training that they are doing with the student athletes. I also like the keeping of injury information close to the vest. I recognize many on here do not like that, but I think it makes sense. I also like it because it is the player's personal information about his physical condition.
Would have been nice to see the basketball players making a shot in the video!!!!!!!!! Maybe some top notch recruits saw it thought maybe they could play and help Marshall.....LOL...…..BUT I AM NOT BETTING ON IT (because I don't bet).
Gochneaur, not being a smart aleck, but if you don't think that sports betting has been ramped up then you are naïve. The internet and legalization has made it more acceptable that betting with a bookie or one your friends with cards.
