I guess, after thinking about it for a while, that I can understand why Doc would take him. I mean even though he never made any significant contributions while at Troy, he has had the experience of playing against some of the best talent in practice, which I would bet is much better competition than he will ever face in C-USA action.
It still baffles me why he would give up an opportunity at a USC degree just to play one eligible season at MU?
USC would not have offered him a roster spot unless he could qualify academically and make the grades (I don’t think he was a scholarship athlete) but I feel there is more to this story.
JMO
