(Title should say 17 would not let me edit )

they have updated the roster.  Looks like it still might be in progress as all the photos and bios are not up but the names are current now.

Four walk ons.... Sturm, Thomas, Williams and Collins.  I was not sure if Thomas was returning or not.

Sorry you didn't know about Luke. He practiced with the team until they all went home in July. Then he has been working with the Euro's the past couple of weeks.

A lot of missing info, and height/weight stats aren’t updated

The schedule is complete. Fir some reason,  unknown  by Danny, the athletic department has not released it to the press. I see EKU released theirs today. They are in Huntington on Dec 19

That's the conference schedule with three out-of-conference games listed. Those are only listed because those schools have already released their schedules. I'm thinking our schedule will be released any day now.

my thoughts exactly.  i can't get off work at the drop of a hat.  i'm not buying tix knowing i'll have to eat 7-8 games b/c i couldn't get off work b/c they waited til the last minute.  i hope this delay isn't due to some D-II school.   ::)

We already know that will be playing D2 Bluefield State. All dates are set. In fact Danny told me I could stop in the office and see the schedule. Just some reason the athletic dept has delayed posting it. As I said above. EKU released theirs yesterday., Theyt are in Huntington on Dec 19

Well, I understand every fan's financial position is different, but I'd buy season tix even if I could only go to 1/2 the games just to support the program.  There's always someone that wants the ones we can't use.

The athletic dept is probably to busy working on something for football ,theyll get around to it when they can.

I'm glad EKU is still on the schedule. I thought I remember a few months back you saying the staff wanted to quit playing EKU and Morehead? Has things changed since then?

I'd like to keep both of them on the schedule for years to come.

Both theses games were under the existing contract. Danny would still like to not play in the future

That will all happen after they all get back on campus and get a photographer lined up. That stuff is coordinated with the SID staff.

  • So, MU can't get ANY name (Major) foes to play in Huntington.  And, apparently, MU struggles to get QUALITY games, home or away, good "Mid Major" opponents within a reasonable distance from Huntington, like East Tenn., VCU, Richmond, Dayton, Xavier.  So we end up AGAIN in the infamous "Global" Tourney, where we get 3 (usually) no name "Sacrificial lambs" at the CAM and then we go on the road as the "Sacrificial lamb" to a Major venue.

Yet, our coaching staff wants to "drop" games with the two of the nearest D1 programs, and longest rivals, to Huntington and MU, Morehead and EKU!!  Makes little to NO damn sense, IMO.  Who do they propose we replace them with?  Rio Grande?  U Pike?? Also, what happened to Danny's clearly stated idea of playing many of our non Conference games a little closer to Huntington, if possible, since we have several long distance road trips during Conference play??

  • Coalherd I'm confused as well. We already struggle to get decent teams. Heck we are playing Bluefield in a regular season game this year. No idea why we would think about dropping Morehead and EKU right now.

We should play EKU and Morehead St every year.  It makes way too much sense.  Play one home one year and the other next year. They are both easy drives and as I have said before their recent NCAA history is better than Marshalls.  AW Hamilton will get EKU going again.  How many times did we go on the road in recent years agains teams that were not major programs almost had sellouts?  When we were at EKU last year for their home opener the game was nearly a sellout. Granted it was Hamilton’s first game as coach. It was great that we had so many fans along with EKU.  These games must stay on the schedule plus it gives fans a chance to go on the road.
