We held them to 14 points at THEIR place.  No one does that.  Florida State couldn't do it at home.  We're the better team.  If we had any offense no one would even question this.  But basically I was just referring to the score and the defense.

If we’re comparing games they beat us by more points than FSU.

If Florida State got up on Doc's Herd by 14 early in the game, the flood gates would open.  Doc wouldn't vary the offensive game plan a bit, same as the Boise game, and their athletes would wear our D down eventually, while Doc and Cramsey stick with the same game plan for 4 quarters on O.

Florida State just won in overtime against Louisiana Monroe because they missed the PAT at the end of the game.  45-44.  Don't tell me we aren't better than Florida State.  They just got the biggest scare of their recent history by the worst team in FBS.

To be honest with ourselves, we didn't hold them to 14.  Showing class and respect, they ran out the clock inside the ten to end the game when they had time and downs to score again.  That being said, our "D" played an outstanding game...One of the best I've ever seen and against a top 25 team.  I think they dedicated this one to Yulee.

Ditto, I am not sure they score as we were doing a good job of stopping the run, but they did run 1 minute, six seconds off the clock on "taking a knee" plays from the six yard line.  But it is also interesting to remember that a 15 yard penalty for a face mask allowed them to keep the ball when we legitimately had them stopped.

All in all, Boise played well, we (for some reason) abandoned our WRs for 2.5 quarters, and never threw the ball vertically to a tight end.  I think we continue to struggle with adaptability at the QB position, I'm not convinced IG knows what he sees and what to do about it.  Really is, IMHO, time to give AT a chance to "run" the offense.

Yes that was a great defensive effort by us. Only one i saw better was 99 team against travis prentice and miami o. Prentice had negative yards at halftime and we totally shut them down for 3 quarters until pruett put in the backups. They got down inside the 10 and our starters ran out on the field to keep them from scoring and pruett screamed at them to get back on the sidelines lol. And the #25 BYU bowl game that year was pretty dominating also. We had their QB going after his OLineman because he was on his back so much. But our defense played real well friday night for sure.

We need to play offensive football.  Run and pass the staples of the game.  Mix them up keep the D guessing. Things that are football.  The NFL OC that is now at LSU engineered a nearly a 500 yd passing attack.  You want a marshall passing attack back bring on Leftwich!!!

FWIW Dept:  Interesting that the LSU QB is Joe Burrow who played high school football for nearby Athens, OH. His father was a former player at Nebraska and was an assistant coach at OU. Burrow was 31-39 for 471 yards; 4 TD and 1 IT. He signed with OSU out of high school and transferred to LSU after two years sitting on the OSU bench.

Not true. Our defense had forced turnovers all night. They didn't take a knee out of respect. They took a knee to make sure they won, knowing they could have easily turned the ball back over (with our defense having a chance to score.)

Exactly they were trying to score and still running their offense until Bachmier scrambled, fumbled and we recovered. Luckily for them the ground caused that fumble but after that scare they decided to take a knee just to be safe and secure the W.

It was because they got the first down and could then end the game without running another play. It was not because they were “scared” of our defense, at least not more so than they would have been of any other defense.

There’s not a sane coach in the country that wouldn’t victory formation out of the last minute of a one score game if the other team has no timeouts.

Agreed. That's my point. They didn't take a knee out of respect. They took a knee because thats what you do in that situation.
