  • Man. He is somethin else. Just unloaded on playing "better defensively". Talked about how the defense has to get off the field faster, and give our offense more opportunities, and that they can't have that time of possession difference. Lol. Well, Doc, you love to deflect from the offense not getting a single first down and going 3 and out all night. Of course the D will get tired and give up more first downs. All while just saying one quip that "Our offense has to play better too".

Later, he talked about how the receivers need to be better, but never once mentioned our abysmal QB play or said that QB play needs to improve. His stubborn ass will trot Green out no matter what. W elost to OU last time in Peden because Doc was too stubborn to change QBs at half to Litton over birdsong. Will he let us lose to OU again? If we lose to OU, do we even get 20k for Cincy or does the fanbase give up? Do we come close to our 31k average for OU since 2010?

  • Wow what a slap in the face to the defense. They played their freak'n hearts out!

Us having one of the worst QB's in I-A is our problem. I bet no college QB has or will have a half like that this year. IG's mechanics are an embarrassment to the program; we've went from Peyton, to Kresser, to Pennington, to Leftwich, to now Uncle Rico.

Doc just doesn't get it...totally lost.

  • Not trying to over dramatize the game Saturday but there is a lot riding on not just the outcome but the teams performance. A slip up could lead to a dramatic decline in fan interest and attendance. A decline that from what I can tell is already slowly eroding.

As I’ve said along with a few others I think there is still a lot to play for. The Herd will need some help along the way. Those of you on the fence, I’d encourage you to get out Saturday and support these guys. The potential is definitely there.

  • I think we will be close to 30k this week.  Weather again should not be a factor.  Win and we will push 35k for Cincy.  Hopefully both schools bring a large contingent of fans.

I hope you're right but judging by how our attendance has been trending I'm afraid that's wishful thinking.

Agree.  Talk about throwing  players under the bus.  I believe the Herd has playmakers, but the coaching is suspect and I think that there's no underestimating what good coaching can accomplish.  I'm having a great time watching my other CF team Maryland.  The new coaching staff has done wonders in transforming the team's performance and mindset.  I just had a great conversation with a friend and former Herd player who has reached the point in which he has Zero expectations of Marshall and feels that Doc will be at MU as long as he wants.  I disagree about expectations, but he's right that 8 win Doc will be at MU until he retires.

That's the sad thing about being stuck with a mediocre head coach at best. To me, it's "the good ole boy system at it's best", Hamrick, and Doc are friends from their Clendenin, and Hurricane days. I don't see the two parting ways until their retirement in a few years. Translation, we're stuck with Doc like it or not. Of course the Doc apologist will defend him to the end.

I think you meant Clendennin and Hurricane days, neither was ever at Winfield.

Do you agree that both Doc, and Hamrick have been friends since teenage years? BTW, It's Clendenin,  :), Thanks on the correction..

  • How about the offense create it's own opportunities by getting a damn first down to keep a drive alive instead of gaining 0 freaking yards.

The defense played their (@/:; off and this guy has the gaul to say horseshit like that? Ridiculous

    No and no way.

IF we come close to that , it will be due to the other teams fans , not ours.  Apathy has dug in like a tick with Herd fans.

It amazes me that some people on this board are Doc apologists. He consistently under achieves in a bad conference that is most likely worse than the Missouri Valley. Then to top it off he says Stupid crap like this. He really is risking losing this team by saying this stupid crap. At least half of it.

Agreed man. Unbelievable he went after the defense but not a word about the elephant in the room, ie Green. You want to go after a oart of the team, talk about that offense, and QB play too. But it soeaks volumes to where his head is, he doesn't give a damn, he'll play Green until we squander what could have been another championship season into a 3rd in the division 7-5 season.
