WVU football has placed Defensive Coordinator Vic Koenning on administrative leave due to "insensitive actions and remarks." Apparently this action was taken in response to social media posts from WVU safety Kerry Martin, a Capital High School product. The linked article below mentions that Marshall's Derrek Pitts was also unhappy with Coach Koenning, which led to his subsequent transfer from the Mountaineer program.

This is going to be a growing issue. Coaches will have watch what they say. Anything that can be misconstrued or misread will be blown up and the coach will likely lose their job.

Heck, if my coaches in HS were around today and used the same language they did with us, they wouldn't last two practices.

The athletes should not have the power..the inmates cannot run the asylum..they are getting an education that will allow them a lifetime of income if they do choose.  Without order you will have chaos..what happens if the QB doesn’t like the play call from the coaches and changes the play..their needs to be an understanding of authority.

Bottom line is, if a person is forced to be around you in a setting(work, school, etc.) don’t try to impose your beliefs on them that do not pertain to the reason you are around that person. It’s really pretty simple.

Pretty soon coaching is going to be find a bunch of guys and throw them a ball.  Anything a coach says or does is going to be under scrutiny and the worst will be assumed from the start.

One thing for sure, E-Man, is that the Mountaineer Damage Control Machine, meaning their PR apparatus, including their State media sycophants at the Gagzette, Metro News, etc., will be in full throttle operation, trying to deflect any problems, negative issues, etc., away from the "flagship U".  Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if they try to deflect some of this on MU, blaming us in part, because of Pitts' defection and transfer to the HERD!!

One definition of retarded is: “very foolish.”  Can somebody explain to me why this coach is in trouble for calling somebody retarded.  I think it is just plain retarded to suspend this coach.  Just further proof that WVU is retarded.
