I hear you.. Doc just has a bad track record of not playing backup QB's. I hope Zban gets to play some..
Agree, E-Man. No disrespect to EKU, but hopefully the HERD can play a lot of "back-ups" in the second half. Doc is sort of on the spot at the QB position. A first time starter redshirt freshman, and inexperienced backups. Wells needs a lot of playing time, especially with an FCS opponent, for both his experience and confidence. But need to get some PT in for Zban, the primary back up.
Same can apply to a lot of our other younger, newer players. Give them some game experience. Can't do anything but help, including with their confidence. Give them some extra incentive going into the next two weeks of practice with a tough Appy State squad coming in on the 19th. Current schedule does work somewhat all in our favor: No road games till October; open dates after EACH of our first two games. Ideal set up for Doc and staff to prepare thoroughly for both Appy and our first conference opponent, Rice, IMO!
