  • If you want to know how I came to this thought. In talking to several current and ex players who played at the highest level all said that’s how they would view/work

Horseshit, Any college player knows Practice is not substitute for real game experience. I'm not sure what HS players you are talking too. But they are wrong.

  • You run it like a practice/camp hybrid. You’re still practicing, still prepping, you can even run scrimmages etc. Doc can go 1 vs 1s and have a pretty solid scrimmage at this point. We have weeks to prep and plan for WKU to allow for the game to come to him. I get everyone wants games, coach wants games, the team wants games but you make the best of it.

If you want to know how I came to this thought. In talking to several current and ex players who played at the highest level all said that’s how they would view/work an in season extended break. That’s how we were prepping the season as well but we got shut down totally.

If our QB was a senior, I’d probably think different, but the extra practice and prep will be good for him. Games can be lost really easy by what happens Monday through Friday.

    No substitute for game experience.

  • Johns love you buddy. Grew up in Columbus played until 07. There’s a big crop of talent that we were a big group who did camps, visits, track and such. One of my best friends growing up won a SB with the Broncos. (Kenny Anunike)  Another played WR with Northwestern. (Jeremy Ebert) Adams was a top prospect with Coffman. Stoneburner jumped to a 4* committing to OSU, love his family. John Hughes played for the Browns, Brett McKnight went to Akron for basketball but he was there too. Hope the names ring some bells. We all knew everyone from about 06-10. Even Georgie at Lancaster we scrimmaged for 4 years and enjoyed who played here. I competed against Vinny at Harmony at Miami, love that group. So yeah call me out buddy. Here’s the names. There’s more. I do banking for several UT players. I do coach high school now. We do have plans for covid. Here’s my cards on the table.

I said there everyone wants games but you make the best of it. I told you how they would view it should this come. I’m not even disagreeing with you. I’m just showing you how to make the best and positives come from it. Sorry I don’t look at everything negative.

  • "Grew up in Columbus played until 07"

What the hell does that have to do with anything?

" There’s a big crop of talent that we were a big group who did camps, visits, track and such."

Mike Adams was Rivals top 5 recruits. Stoneburner was a 4*. He worked way harder than Adams. Adams was super athletic but it was numbers and showed at OSU. John Hughes was awesome. John Hughes as Browns DL made me happy. Knew him since we were sophomores. Loved Isaiah Pead. He is and always will be my guy after loss of limb. Watching Roosevelt Nix kills me. he’s moved on well but I want him at NG.

Patrick Omameh who just joined the Raiders PS this week took my best friend to homecoming. We hung out last year in NO. Love my Desales guys. Again call me out.

Call me out more. I have more that I grew up around. One of my best friends brothers played at WVU. Mike Davies and Joey Decaminada were my trainers. Davies trained Alexa Bliss and Dana Brooke for WWE. Trained beyond those as Davies worked with the best. Johns here’s my cards on the table. Call my bluff. I’ll give you names. Even Vinny and Georgie and I had groups. We were all a big family. But call your stuff if it makes you feel better. But do not challenge me on what I grew up with. I love my friendships and love my growing up. You will not take that from me on a message board.

Dude, none of what you're saying translates to practice is better than game.  I don't care if Roger Goodell is your dad.  This is silly talk.

That's why I don't post here very much. You have to wade through 90% BS, to get to the 10% information of any value.

And who a guy grew up with, and "hung around with" back in those days, are "information of any value" to the main topic of this thread??

It is.  No game on 3rd, was followed by practice will be just as good, followed by no it won't.  It's relevant.  But Scotty's smoke screen of anecdotal irrelevance is not.  He basically said in summation "Practice experience is just as good as game experience because I played football and know people that played football."
