  • There are other PGs out there we are interested in.
As Danny told me,point guard is not a term he uses. He wants a guard that can handle to ball like Elmore and Taylor.  He may be 6-8

True but as we know, the Dantoni offense is a free flowing offense.  The ball doesn't necessarily have to go through a point guard or #1 hands like in previous years or other systems.

  • I understand that their is a big kid in Utah that Danny wants to take a closer look at that might change who we offer and don't offer this early recruiting period. The only thing I know is that he is a high schooler that Va Tech is also interested in.

Any general info about Noyes, and the other 3 players noted, that can be shared, etc.?  Stats like position, scoring averages, sizes, etc.

  • At 6-6 and 175#, Noyes looks like he has a frame that could fill out nicely to perhaps 200-210# or so.  Moeller use to be, perhaps still is, a MAJOR football power in Ohio for decades.  I imagine that they play at a fairly high level in basketball, too.

  • Have to shoot it better than last year to play for a championship.

Moeller is still a stud sports school. The Cincinnati Catholic league annually cranks out a number of D-1 recruits. Miles McBride, who was fourth in minutes at WVU this past year as a freshman, is a Moeller kid. Noyes would be a great get, as he is piling up numerous quality offers. Not sure if we have a real shot.

DD certainly knows the issue. Let’s see if we’ve taken steps to correct it.

  • Anyone have any news on how the last year or two of "pro" ball has gone for Penava over there in Uzbekistan, Outer Slovenia, Inner Slobovia, or is it Absurdistan??

There are number of euro leagues that are no joke.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

The league Jon has been playing in s considered the 2nd best league in the world. The team Ajdin played fir the past 2 years was there are well. Ajdin was making nearly $200k a year. I wouldn't call that a joke either. I haven't gotten much on his new team Mons Hainhaut in Belgium.  They are in the top European league as well. I know he is already getting more points and minutes now. They play the Dantoni style which we know fits him

    Go Herd!

That may be the tip of the iceberg, Garbanjo.  A lengthy, detailed article on www.cbsports.com yesterday talking about all the concerns about the COVID's potential effect will have on this basketball season.  Lot of schools are trying to devise ways of dealing with the issue of positive cases among team members, staff, etc., including how to deal with quarantining, etc.  Also, the issue of testing, how, when, how much etc.

A lot of "major" team, leagues are already indicating "reluctance" to play OOC games this season with "mid majors", noting that the testing protocols and other preventative measures by these schools may not be acceptable to the "major" schools/leagues.  Article noted that due to these issues, it may be DIFFICULT for many mid majors, especially" to get the required 13 games needed this season to be eligible for the post season tournament!

Many of the Big Boys, so to speak, are more inclined to play in those made for TV, and other, tournaments which are held at a "neutral" location somewhere with the participating teams in a "bubble".  Even schools like UK and Duke are considering having their own tournaments with similar restrictions, protocols, etc.

To me, bottom line is that schools like MU may find getting very many good OOC games in basketball may be even MORE difficult than what we experienced in football!  Right now, I wouldn't hold my breath expecting the HERD's scheduled games at VA TECH and UK to materialize, and probably several more.

I don’t expect to have to buy season tickets this year either. I would be shocked if they let in more than 1500 if any.

  • Just to note, guys, that despite our schedule being released a while back, I was just on the HERD ZONE web site and the ONLY schedule that is posted is the "2019-20" schedule!  Which indicates to me that there are a lot of changes and revisions going to be made on it between now and 11/25!!

From what I know,  Kentuck, Xavier are both off the schedule.  Akron is moved to next year.
College of Charleston and VA Tech both on but dates are being worked out.
We do have a game on the 25th. In fact I believe we will have 3 in the first week.
The schedule is expected to be complete again by October 15

Possibility then, Herdmeister, that if EKU didn't have another foe scheduled on the 25th, that we still might open with A-Dub's Colonels in Richmond.  Just hope that some of the other good mid major match ups on the original schedule, like Toledo, Ohio, UNI and Duquesne, can be salvaged!  Not to mention the VA Tech game and Charleston, as you noted.
