  • Great news Herd fans!

Check out the press release below!

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/watchstadium.com/stadium-announces-conference-usa-football-schedule-with-games-set-to-air-across-sinclair-regional-sports-network-09-23-2020/amp/

All of the 15 CUSA games produced by Stadium will now air on the 19 Regional Sports Networks owned by Sinclair. (Mostly Fox branded RSNs and a few others)

Locally that means Fox Sports Ohio & Possibly ATT Sports Net Pittsburgh

This is huge for us and the conference. No more games on OTA Stadium or Facebook.

Marshall’s games this year now on RSNs.

    Oct. 10 - @WKU      7:30 PM
    Oct. 24 -  FAU         2:30 PM
    Nov. 21 - Charlotte  12:30 PM

Some more good news for Herd exposure!

  • Good news for many!  Unfortunately, cable systems like Suddenlink in large area of West Virginia don't/won't carry Fox Ohio EXCEPT that they do preempt some "jewelry selling" channel to put on Cincinnati Reds games.  Once Reds games are over, right back to selling costume jewelry and "trinkets" produced in Malaysian sweat shops.  Maybe if enough Herd fans called, complained, etc., they'd preempt regular programming for the Herd telecasts also!!

Today’s telecast of Tulane at Southern Miss was on ATT Pittsburgh as well so I am guessing all three Herd games will be on that station as well which covers all of WV on cable or on Direct TV, Hulu etc

  • This is great news. I hate to give CUSA any credit, but maybe they knew this was Stadiums plan all along and the Facebook stuff would be temporary. Most companies offer a sports package that allow you to pickup all of the RSN’s. The best deal out there right now is YoutubeTV. $65 and then add the sports package for another $10 and one can literally pickup every Marshall football that is televised in this current media deal. Now the only thing CUSA needs to work on is getting our Conference Championship Game on off of CBSSN and onto CBS.

Although it doesn't carry NFL Network, my research led me to Hulu because of the sports available there.  With an upgrade to 200 hours of taping and ability to skip commercials on taped events, I think we're paying $65.00 a month.  I also watched the (as much as I could stand) Tulane at USM game on Fox regional via Hulu.

I had Hulu for a while, it’s not a bad deal either. It seemed like YoutubeTVs guide was easier to navigate and the unlimited DVR space is nice. IMO, they are both really good deals.

  • A ranked, undefeated, and NY6 bound Marshall would be a good way to get the conference championship on regular CBS. One can dream.

  • Great that it will on tv..here is something odd about fox sports ohio...
no one can get fox sports ohio on an apple product in my home ,,samsung products have no problem at all with the spectrum app...tv is fine no problem. called spectrum and apple support and no one can fix the problem.. that is the only channel that wont pick up on apple.
reloaded spectrum app several times but not getting channel. so we either watch on tv or samsung galaxy
spectrum cable guy has no clue either.

Except that Fox Ohio and the Pittsburgh ATT station have different audiences when it comes to some sports followers.  Because of Pitts ACC affiliation, the Pittsburgh station will carry some ACC sports events that won't be on Fox Ohio.  They also, at times, carry WVU sports like basketball, women's basketball, and even baseball games, IIRC.  Hopefully, they will be able to put on some Herd basketball games this coming season!!

  • I just looked ahead and FOX Sports Ohio and AT&T Sportsnet Pittsburgh are showing Marshall @ WKU on their 10/10 schedules.

I'm sure it will be on more across the country as well.

The equally as good news is that Sinclair is now using all of the FSN equipment and software to produce the games.  Games are in HD, have a first down line, and Fox’s graphics package from last year.  Games look dozens of times better.

This has turned a kind of embarrassing product into something I’m really glad to be a part of now. Far wider distribution and better production.

Couldn’t agree more. After years of embarrassing games on Facebook and apps no one has, we have actually landed in a good spot with this development.

  • My only concern this season is advertising a game on "Stadium" and then people get confused when they go to their OTA Stadium or channel on Pluto TV and it's not there.

Hopefully a rebrand to Stadium Ohio, Stadium Southeast, Stadium North, etc. is forthcoming.

Until then, I'd like to see Marshall advertise it as "Check Your Regional Sports Network for availability" or something like that instead of just saying "TV: Stadium"

I completely agree. I know Sinclair is working on rebranding all of the RSNs so hopefully that will happen sooner than later. HerdZone should list the games as Fox RSNs. If anyone has an in at the athletic department maybe we could get it changed on the website.

The good news is that this deal seems to sure up local viewers through FSN Ohio & AT&T Pittsburgh and most of the Nationwide audience as well through the other 21 RSNs. Last weeks game was also on the Marquee Sports Network in Chicago and MSG which covers most of the Northeast.

Hopefully Stadium sets up a similar distribution deal for the CUSA Basketball season. Time will tell.

    Go Herd!

  • Can we still stream it from the Stadium website? Not the greatest thing but at least you can watch the game.

No. Stadium games are now only on Regional Sports Networks like FOX, AT&T Sportsnet, etc.

This is why it will be confusing to people. It's advertised as a Stadium game.

Stadium on the RSNs was my hope all along so I'm not complaining. It's just confusing when the schools say it will be on Stadium.

  • This is awesome news and what a lot of us were hoping for. Getting to continue playing on Saturdays while also getting excellent regional coverage. This is a game changer for us in terms of coverage.

Now my question. I am confused. Will I still be able to watch the game on Pluto TV through Roku?

No. If you look at the schedule on Stadium's website CUSA football isn't on there.

Dish network's and  RSN's impasse  means no games for Dish customers unless something has happened in the last few days. MUsince96 have you heard  if they have a EST for clearing  up the dispute? Any info on how to watch the games if you are are a Dish customer?

Haven't heard anything about the Dish situation. Do you have any RSNs that aren't FOX?
I saw the Tulane vs. Southern Miss Stadium game was also on AT&T Pittsburgh, Marquee Sports Network, MASN2, and MSG Network.

If you live in the Huntington-Charleston or anywhere in WV always into Western PA, you STILL get AT&T Pittsburgh on DISH Network. So you will get the games!

Dish has a dispute with the 23 RSNs that are Fox branded and owned by Sinclair, AT&T Pittsburgh is not a Sinclair station so it is still currently on DISH.

    Hope this helps!
