  • I will take it and enjoy.  There is not one person on this board that would have bet a penny we would be ranked in October.  I am a huge football fan and I would not have bet on being ranked this season.

We are not great but even a Pennington senior team almost lost to Woffard at home... I will take a W any day and not complain.

  • Nope. Pennington was a junior that year.

  • Seriously, if doomsday is a 20-9 win against FAU, everyone needs to reexamine their expectations. This team has a serious chance to go undefeated and they all aren't going to be blowouts.

  • Just keep winning. Not just for this season, but going undefeated this year will set things up for a serious run next year.

Correct...we had a lot of very close games in 98...

  • You have to have some games like this. Every game isn’t going to be easy. We have to be challenged some.  Most people said we wouldn’t make it through road trips to WKU and La Tech back before the season yet here we sit at 5-0 and ranked. Nobody would have said we would be ranked and 5-0 even the most green colored glasses wearing fan.

I am going to enjoy the ride and get see what we can do this year and get experience for hopefully normal year next year.

    Go Herd!!!

Totally false, as usual for you. I made several posts opining that Doc was set up to win big this season. Both Pitt and Boise would have been beatable at the Joan.

  • In another dimension, where Covid never happened and IG was still QB, we'd probably be sitting at 3-4 after a disastrous out of conference slate and getting pounded by LA Tech and FAU.

The fact that we're 5-0, with a championship, maybe even undefeated season the table is kind of amazing in itself. After last night, I don't think a perfect season is going to happen but winning the division absolutely will. This will be a very special season and set things up nicely for next year. This all reminds me more of 2013 than 2014.

Last nights game was a real good test that we needed. FAU might have been more talented and better than Appy St. I felt like we needed to throw more when they were stacking the box. Wells done a great job, but showed a lot of freshman mistakes, he had 3 more balls that could have been picked. Personally, I'm happy for our team and winning these types of games will help us down the road.
