  • Not saying it's not right, but that's a big road line.

I say play the mix of players, first, second, third teams, the whole game. Keep the energy up with playing guys who don't play that much.  It is a brain drain for sure.  Got to bring our own energy and excitement; but although I though we lacked it early yesterday, we sure found it in the second half of the second quarter, and the whole second half.  So much so, we game them 7 points from our own energy mistakes.

  • Each game is a trap one now.  Short week for fiu. We need to bring the physicality.

  • I honestly expected 35. I would give 24 all day long. FIU couldn’t even make the 1AA playoffs.

Agreed. Is this a top 20 team or isn't it? A top 20 team beats them bvy 30

  • Since the rest of our schedule is so weak, we need to run up the score the rest of the season to impress the CFP committee and get to our first New Years Six bowl.

  • Jacksonville State lost their QB early and still outgained them 444-156. FIU is a bad team even by C-USA standards.

  • One possible factor to consider:  weather.  Charleston (WV) station said that ANOTHER storm system is brewing far out in the Atlantic, possibly another Tropical depression, i.e., hurricane.  What will be the effects, if any, on South Florida's weather by Friday night?  Even if not a storm directly, could potentially be wet/rainy.  As if Doc needs another reason to play it close to the vest!

  • Hopefully the lessons learned Saturday will resonate the rest of the year. FIU is not good , but we can't let up. These type games really test the mental strength of a team. They need to focus and not read or listen to the media.

I'm definitely getting ahead of myself but I'm not worried about FIU, MTSU, or UMass. They're all terrible. It's Charlotte on Nov. 22 that has trap written all over it.

  • I agree with many of you but after visiting that stadium 3 times it just sucks it out of you. It’s out kind of in nowhere land. There is zero college football atmosphere on the outside and little to none on the inside. It’s an erector set stadium that you just set and bake in for day games and at night it reminds you of a high school Friday night game. Of all the times I’ve been Marshall has had half if not more of the fans.

Hopefully the offense can come out and score some points early and not get in to a back and forth struggle. I also hope the coaches let this team continue to play and like whf mentioned get the bench involved in the game and keep that team fired up on its own energy.

Sounds like FIU should be in the MAC.

Not sure what storm they are talking about. Tropical Storm Zeta is down in the gulf, but the storm foretasted track is for it to head to make landfall in Louisiana. Of course the track might change. Below is the NOAA link to Zeta. After going through 3 tropical storms/hurricanes down here on the NC coast, I carefully watch these storms.

  • Fiu is really bad.  That said that's too many points.   Doc is still Doc, though doing some better now, but I still expect once we get a lead to go into a turtle mode, and leave points on the board.

  • The FIU team that played Jacksonville State recently is not the same team I saw take Liberty to the wire. But, like FAU, I’m expecting them to be fired up to play a ranked team.

Yep, everyone thought FAU was going to be Little Sisters of the Poor, obviously we found out otherwise.
Don’t take anyone lightly. A loss to FIU would be catastrophic.

They've had the same issues that FAU did - injuries and COVID related absences.  I expect them to have a lot more first teamers available on Friday.
