Topic: How far we will drop tomorrow and the next week without a game

I would say we will drop to 19 in AP and without a game over thanksgiving I can see us dropping to 22 or 23 depending on outcomes. Any news on trying to find a game for next weekend?

19 sounds about right, I look for CC, Iowa State, and Northwestern to pass us.

No breaks in today’s games...I also think 19 is about where we will be ranked...the bigger issue is this is the week the playoff rankings come out and we will be lucky to be in the top 25.

Looking like our ranking could be worse than 19. Oklahoma, Iowa state, northwestern , Wisconsin will drop to 15ish so that will drop us. In the playoff polls i would say 24 or 25. Personally I don’t think SOS should a large weighting in rankings this year but I’m sure they will use that excuse to keep Cincy or BYU out.

1. ADs agreed to essentially leave all but one G5 programs out.
2. The committee can make the rules up as they go and show bias toward P5 and their “favorite” programs. They put the teams in the playoff that will draw the highest TV ratings

Sad but true. This is probably the closest Marshall will ever get and it’s not even that close. First, we have to be undefeated to even have a slim chance. How often is that? Second, even if we are, they will alway take a one loss UCF, Cincy, Boise, etc because of strength of schedule. Heck this year Coastal Carolina would even get it over us if they beat Liberty. Football is rigged and hard to expect very much.

2. This week, I think we will drop a little. Not because we are off... we could have beaten Charlotte 59-0 and it wouldn’t affect the polls for this coming week. Some teams behind us had “impressive” wins over teams ranked above us. I think Coastal will be ranked ahead of us this week. I think Oklahoma jumps us while Ok State drops below us. I think Northwestern jumps us, but I don’t think Wisconsin drops below us. I think Indiana stays above us despite the loss. I think we will be in the 18-19 range but again, it’s based on what those teams around us did, not that we were off.

The last time we had an open week (Week 10), we moved up 3 spaces from 19 to 16, so you can’t assume you will drop just because of the bye week. It depends on a lot.

The P5 has no incentive to share their money with any more G5's than the one they are contractually obligated to

And now sitting right below us is all big name schools. They win and they will start to move up. Be lucky if we can hold in the 16-17 spots.

If you watch a lot of MACtion, I don't see how you can say we are the weakest conference in FBS; they have some really skunk teams this year, and none as strong as MU, FAU, UAB, UTSA, and perhaps UNT.  And I'll put the top and mid C-USA teams up against the top and mid-SunBelt teams any day of the week.

Well this conference has been fighting for the bottom spot every year. And this year is by far the worst it has ever been. WKU crashed, fau down from kiffen years, LT down, UAB down. And the rest are just beyond awful.

We are dead last in real time rpi with 7 schools above #100. The Mac has 4 schools above #100.

Not saying CUSA is a world beater but there is not much difference in any of the G5 conferences except the AAC...the rest are about the same...the shame is that had we played our regular schedule we would have been undefeated. 

I think BYU and Cincy are better than us but I believe we are next and we could beat most of the P5 teams ranked above 10.  Watched USC 3 times and we are balanced enough to beat them...

The only true indicator is RPI. It takes into consideration strength of schedule scores etc We are last
