I can’t believe they expected anyone to believe that. Clearly lots of COVID going around. In the history of NCAA FB, has a team ever cancelled a game due to injuries?
Initially I was going to post “If they did it was called a forfeit.”
Then I had a thought that may offend some on here though that wasn’t and isn’t my intent. So prior to posting I decided to look back to see what actually was done in the most extreme example of injury to a group of football players. From the Wikipedia entry for 1970 Ohio Football Team
“The team's game against Marshall, scheduled for November 21, was notably cancelled in the aftermath of the Southern Airways Flight 932 crash on November 14 that killed 37 members of the opposing team.”
As someone who attended OU for the 1969 academic year and Marshall from 1970 to 73, I remember what to do was a big question at the time. If I remember correctly one suggestion even included WVU volunteering to dress as Marshall and play the game. Another was to allow the MU freshmen team to play. Ultimately the decision was made to cancel the game. OU did however, dress for the game and came onto the field and held a ceremony to memorialize the Marshall team.
