  • I don't trust Hambrick with a FB hire.
But 'search committees' are not exactly very reliable either.

Well I’ll take 4-5 people going out and getting the best 3 they can find and then going from there over Hamrick having total control. Personally I would love to see the 2 leave together. They both bring about as much excitement as watching paint dry.

Search committee is definitely the way to go. I don’t trust Hamrick to make this hire at all. He lucked into D’antoni, because from what I understand he didn’t even want him. Please for the love of God do an actual search. If we end up with someone like Brad Lambert or even worse Lambert himself then the fanbase we will be set back to a point it will never recover from.

  • He was beating the little sisters of the poor.

You might want to stop using that phase.

What you fail to recognize by using it is that under Doc we have become one of the little sisters.  Maybe even the head mistress.

  • Its really really sad.  MU football isn't the g5 team to fear anymore and hasn't been for awhile.  We had a good run and I do believe its over because the administration doesn't demand excellence.  We need leaders in the right positions that are willing to take risks and have a vision to move us upward.  Because it seems to me that we are happy where we are at.  You should never be completely comfortable in a competitive environment because that's when you get passed up.

Worked pretty good for us when we use to do it.... Parrish, Chaump, Donnan, Aberdeen, Huckaby, Donovan......I would take those years over hand picked guys such as White, Snyder, Jirsa, Herrion, Doc, and Donnie.... The only exceptions is Pruett and D'Antoni..... The fact is our Athletic Department has played it "safe" since the 90's and really hasn't put much time or investment into the hiring process and we are slowly paying the price for this.

Go back to how we use to do it... Form a search committee made up of 2 BOG's, former player, AD, and a member of the athletic faculty.... Have them make a recommendation to President after a "real" search is done. AD doesn't like it then his A$$ can hit the door.

I would much rather have Geoff Sheils (BOG), Chris Miller (BOG). Chad Pennnington, Hamrick, and Karen McComas (Faculty) decide our next coach over "just" Hamrick any day.

  • There will no search committee. MU will say its a national search but our next coach is already here. Jmo.
And if true, I am done with Marshall athletics. I’ll donate to the Foundation and such.
