  • His defense stunk against UAB for goodness sake.  No thanks.  He lost to D3 teams at Charlotte.  No thank you.  Unfortunately he is considered attached with Holliday.  Had he been with a coach here who won big and moved on it would be a different conversation.  This will not excite fans and keep the program stale.  I think it’s a bad move if it happens.  Form a committee of past greats well connected professionally and let them sort this program out.  I will trust their decision over anyone else.
Moss, pennington, Leftwich, brown, wade etc.  those familiar with today’s type of personality and player.   That’s how it should be done.
You do realize Lambert came here with Donnan than went to Georgia with him, right?  Not that I'm saying hire him, but he was here with the last coach here who won big and moved on to bigger things. Certainly one of our top 2 coaches ever.

  • This is my list of coaches in whom I would be interested. Not saying I want them all. It is a good list of who to talk to. Some reaches. Some sure things. A lot of value. Some steppers and some more long term options.

    Graham Harrell - OC/USC $1.2 million

    Phil Longo - OC/UNC $900k

    Jay Hill - HC/Weber State $275k

    Marcus Freeman - DC/Cincy $425k

    Sean Lewis - HC/Kent State $440k

    Jay Bateman - DC/UNC $600k

    Tony Peterson - OC/App State $200k

    Travis Trickett - WR-TE/WVU $250k

    Lance Leipold - HC/Buffalo $465k

  • Maybe Buffalo's Leipold will be viewing, and using, the Bowl game as his Final Audition for the MU HC position!!

I like your list. Agee with the poster above that Adam Fuller needs added, and probably another name you could add is Gerad Parker OC-WVU.

  • I would prefer a lower level HC over a coordinator.  They have shown they can run a program and know how to manage a game. Obviously  coordinator may do just fine but its more a pig in a poke situation with them

Not related to this thread, but good call on how CUSA was “locked” to Sun Belt opponents. UAB and Marshall were pulled into the pool, as I said was possible.  Settle down, Meister.

    I told you so.

  • Leftwich employed some old Herd pass concepts in his offensive system.  They worked well today.

  • Right now, in year 11, with the state of mediocrity and chaos the program is in, and the overall state of gloom and disillusionment the fan base is in, I would take that guy "WALDO", if anybody can find him!!!!

  • Brad lambert was 21-48 at Charlotte.  He wouldn’t be any better than the pee wee coach  we have now.

With close to (2) consecutive Ls to a D3 team.  A D3 team that avg 500 yards in both games AT Charlotte.  No thank you.  Uab and Rice beat our defense.  Aaron Taylor ? Our defensive scheme vs UAB. Many have ? The soft coverage as well.  No thank you on Lambert.  When I picture him I picture Doc Holliday.  No!!!

  • You hire from within when things are rolling and you want to continue/maintain a top program. You do NOT hire from within when you are mediocre or needing a jump start.

I forgot about the HC at Kent State. He definitely deserves a look. I also forgot about Parker at WVU. He also deserves a look. He was interim head coach at Purdue for a bit wasn’t he?

If I could hand pick a coach it’d be Sean Lewis- Kent State. He is young and turned Kent State around in the matter of 2 years with inferior talent. We could probably double his salary so you would think he would at least give us a look. Plus coaching at a school with actual fan support maybe appealing to some of these coaches. I would imagine he could do a lot with Grant Wells.

  • Is there much of a precedent for G5 coaches to jump from one relatively successful program to another for a slight pay bump? I just don't see any MAC coach jumping ship and basically risk starting over from scratch and hurting their chance of landing a P5 gravy job.

No way a Mac coach jumps to a shittier conference.

  • Gerad Parker. We need a young, energetic, creative offensive mind. Other than the Cato years, our offense has basically sucked for the Snyder and Doc years. Time for a shift and total house cleaning.

But if I were a betting man, Doc will be on the sidelines in 2021. If not, Lambert will be the guy. jmho

Yeah, pulled into the pool and drowned. A 2-8 South Carolina was such a great reward for the CUSA champ.

Buffalo, actually not bad for us considering how we ended the season. But, a matchup with Coastal or Louisana would have been much better opponents than either Marshall or UAB ended up getting. But, we have no one to blame but ourselves for our bowl.

  • If Doc is let go, and Parker from WVU gets the job, Legg is more than likely going to be either the OC or a co-OC and will coach QBs or OL. I know how many of you feel about Legg. However, he’d call Cramsey under the table. Legg’s flaws come from doubting his players’ capabilities in CERTAIN adverse situations. Cramsey doesn’t have a clue. Honestly, absolutely clueless. I would hope they get rid of AT LEAST Cramsey... and a couple others (won’t say who just yet, but there are specific guys on the staff that need to go), regardless of who the coach is. I know new guys usually bring in a huge or complete change of personnel. The only coach I care that they keep (if they bring in someone else), if he wants to stay or is able to, is Price (by far the best coach on the staff).

Good input 78. What are your thoughts about the big fight or blow up after the MT game. Something has happened to this team. The look and vibe did a 180 from the MT to the Rice games. Care to share your thoughts? Thanks
