  • Appy st is killing N Texas 58-26 with a minute left in the game. Not a good look for CUSA.

  • Of course this game does show there's is at least one more team besides LA Tech in the CUSA West that the Herd could compete against.

  • You just witnessed the year Sun Belt officially passed up CUSA in overall football quality. It has been close for years, but I believe they have leaped us with a better long term strategy and won't look back.

It's really amazing what they've accomplished. They were basically looted by C-USA of their best programs and had to rebuild from scratch and came out way stronger than C-USA in the end.

It really is amazing. That conference was left for dead when they lost WKU and MTSU. Now they are stronger by far than they were and passed CUSA up. They got teams that have a desire to grow their programs and CUSA got markets and pretender wanna be’s.

I don't know if it was dumb luck and they took schools with quality football programs as opposed to following the trendy (at the time) big tv market school approach because that's all they could get, but it worked. I like to think they had someone with enough brain power in leadership to realize simply being in a tv market means nothing if nobody will turn your game on.

Personally I'd rather go to the Sun Belt if asked. It would be nice if we got in with 3 other schools.

  • To be fair this was the 2nd/3rd best Sun Belt team against the 6th/7th best C-USA team who was missing their starting QB, RB, and top 2 WR.

  • Should have paid attention to the SEC...take programs that care about football not schools with TV market.  Does anyone think Clemson or Alabama are big TV markets..no but they care about football  as that should have been the measuring stick for new schools.

  • I'd love for us to join the Sun Belt.  They remind me of the AAC about five years ago, at least football-wise.

True but we never seemed to care when it was reversed in years past.

At this point I hope that is what happens. Texas State would probably rather go to CUSA with the other Texas Schools, and the SBC decides to go to 12 by adding Southern Miss, Marshall, and James Madison.

Hey now. CUSA is just a short term plan for ODU and UNCC. Only a matter of time until they get that ACC or SEC invite.
