  • Verified there was a huge fight that started in the locker room and spilled over into the parking lot...major divide on the team with players not wanting to block and certain players not getting thrown to...

It adds up now.  We may play better Friday or it is going to be a blowout.  Shocked there was no video with this many players involved.

  • Artie Henry was Wells security blanket.  Once Keaton came back he went back on the bench vs Rice.  That was a bad decision by the coaching staff.  The used Henry only on our TD drive and complete Wells first pass in title game.  Coaches don’t use right players.  I think our HC could be having a difficult time relating to his players.  Old vs new school is like fire and ice.

  • This sounds like a Tight End issue to me, just guessing.  I sensed that Gaines was upset, based on commentators saying that he had told him he was the best thrower on the team.  Then we go to him way to many times early in the UAB game.  Also threw to Miller and Mirrell.  Also saw Gaines mouthing during the game against UAB, cameras on him on the sideline.

Can't see our Oline getting into a worry about who is being thrown to; concerning not wanting to block.

Anyone know if my hunch is correct?

By the way, I wonder if all this didn't start after it became known who wasn't returning; just another hunch.

Glad you finally found out. Like I said, just because it wasn’t plastered all over social media doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

The blocking was referring to the run game...not the passing game.  May see a better performance Friday from the Oline.

  • I think part of the reason you see issues like this popping up so often with Doc's teams because I believe that Doc promises too many things to players or promises the same things to multiple players. Creates animosity.

  • whf. I agree with your hunch, I think it became obvious with the early plays directed primarily toward one player. The stench in the locker room from last year did not disappear as a result of IG leaving. Too, no one can convince me McDaniel getting no meaningful carries with his talent level meant certain players were locked in regardless of results.

Oh, I used to play a lot of basketball in the rec center with guys off the football team when I was at Marshall. That's been like 6 years ago now, but that was a complaint I often heard was the same rules didn't apply to everyone all the time.

I think in 2016 that notion was something rumored a lot too, that everyone in the lockerroom wasn't being treated equally.

  • This program is a cluster dumpster fire and that is all we need to know. I’ve heard the team has been divided for a few years now. You cant have a program with some players against other players and wanting to play for some players and not others. What is this the bloods vs the crips? Fights in the locker room, parking lot, what’s going on?

  • I figured something big happened that lead to a bunch of suspensions and that's why Doc couldn't field a team against Charlotte. It just never would have worked in any other year.

I had that feeling as soon as I read the press release. It was worded in a very telling way I belive

  • This seems to happen every year with Docs teams. Certainly every year from 2016 on. This program needs a total redo. Ridiculous

Week or two before thanksgiving.  There was a thread on it asking for details.  Fight started in locker room. Spilled out to parking lot. I heard a players car was damaged. Supposedly senior players walked right by during the fight and did nothing to stop it

  • I posted during the game that the Gaines experiment was going to hurt us during the game and beyond. You can tell we just force him the ball and with no knowledge of what happened, I would have to assume he is a part of the split.

This!  It reminded me of last year, and the year before with Green.  It was as if the coaching staff said we have to guarantee Gaines is going to get a specific number of touches to keep him happy.
