Doesn't seem to have helped their brand nor the chance they get into a league. Not seeing them mentioned in any dialogue.

The deal doesn't start until this fall.

And they're in the league they want to be in. The Big East. Football went Independent after the AAC wouldn't keep them as a football only member.

Could be a back up plan. I'm sure there's a plan B and plan C if things don't break how they envision.

Or Marshall knows it has little chance? Or like 96 said, maybe a backup plan? If this is all true, at least we are now getting active and not sitting on our hands content.

Maybe the AAC gets poached and we join them instead. Either way, I?m glad we are not just sitting around waiting to see what happens. I?m actually excited to think that this version of CUSA is most likely over no matter what.

For me, its AAC or bust. But if we bust, a consolation prize would be seeing us lose the absolute dead weight of all these cusa bums and at least become part of a conference that can both field a decent team and win some ooc games.

although not 100% certain on order of preference-

1)  A10 football addition of 8 to 12 teams, which could mean any number of configurations for all other sports.  a large conference in BB and most other sports??   i've always liked the idea and similar to many fans i always hoped that if fb isn't/wasn't getting IT done, that BB might be the catalyst that would propel/lead us, by a different route, to better affiliations.  i don't know how we fit academically or otherwise but the regional aspect would be good enough

I'm honestly just glad that the Marshall administration is actually being proactive and putting together various options. A new conference, designed from the ground up based on our actual needs, that learns from the past 8 years doesn't sound half bad.

I absolutely don't want to be stuck in C-USA if it gets picked over by the AAC again. Even in its current state, I want out.

As would I . The A10 & MU are a perfect fit imo for Herd sports .
