"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • The match is being streamed on Facebook Live off the Marshall University Soccer Facebook page. It is a single camera feed with no commentary.

  • I believe score is 2-2 now. From the little bit I've watched it looks like we have been playing "not to lose" after getting up 2-0. Haven't looked good at all since I started watching.

  • Really poor play in the second half. Look like we are not only playing not to lose but at half speed. We can?t control the ball. Hopefully we will get going.

  • VA TECH has double number of shots, shots on goal, and we have double number of penalties.  Not the formula for success against a top 15 foe, obviously.

  • Yes. vA Tech scored there last two goals on penalty kicks. If I?m correct, both fouls were off corner kicks.

  • I must not be watching the same game. After I joined Marshall scored 3 goals and VaTech 0. Herd totally dominating, mixed in with some keep-away.

Anyone have a final score ?

  • Souza just picked up his second yellow for pushing. VA Tech player was standing over the ball on stoppage and he pushed him.. We are now a man down.

  • I turned it off...I'm not going to watch any team playing lackadaisical and/or playing not to lose.

I hope they get their heads out of their ass after this loss.

  • Need to regroup quickly.  Next opponent, Coastal Carolina, is also ranked and just as importantly, its a Conference match up also.

  • Long season ahead. They will be fine. Gotta little too cocky after going up 2-0. Prolly drop to 10 or so in the next rankings

  • I'll admit I am new to the sport, but Tech seemed to be more aggressive and faster than us. Also, to you soccer experts, Grassie seemed to be Pi$$3ed at the ref, was he just frustrated with his team, or did we get an ACC screwing?

  • Did not see game.  Looked like, as said, VT took control at about 55 min mark. Someone who saw game will have to comment on whether VT pressured us into mistakes and/or we just couldn't keep control of ball. It almost looked like after looking at play by play txt, VT did to us what UNC did in NCAAs in final 30.

Saw that Max Schnieder only played 33 minutes. Seems Grassie experimenting a bit with his midfielder combos.

Disappointing for sure after being up but i'm sure we'll be better.

Coastal, BTW, plays a ranked High Point team today after they tied ranked UK on opening night.

Also, WVU hosts #3 Pitt tomorrow. Did not realize WVU was picked to win MAC even though it was BG and Akron receiving votes.
