  • Lambert when we need him.  Defense needs some coaching help.  Secondary played awful and tackling was bad last night.

Hamwreck ruined that when he considered Lambert for the coaching job. Speaking of that we probably lose by 30 last night if either old man is coaching.

Maybe Huff keeps Lambert on staff if he was not a coaching candidate. Too awkward to keep the guy you interviewed against.

I?ve been in this position before a good HC can still make it work.

We don?t lose by 30 if Lambo is coaching, because ECU wouldn?t have scored 30.  I was one of those pulling for Lambert to get the job.  When Huff got it, I was all in.  Still am.  But let?s not act like Lambert was Doc 2.0.  Dude could coach some D (something severely lacking last night) and players respected him.  But we chose Huff.  Huff will have some growing pains as he has zero head guy experience.  We have all been enamored with his direct and pointed press conferences.  He says all the right stuff.  And recruits really well.  But if his words don?t translate into better play on the field we will find ourselves in Doc-land (7-5 or 8-4) this year.  Huff already is bothered by folks questioning his schemes and results.  He better get used to the pressure and the expectations.  They won?t get any easier because he says all the stuff we want to hear in his pressers.

Yeah he was being a tiny bit edgy with reporters before the season began, it was a little concerning.

Lambert was a good DC, terrible HC; just like Snides. Doc was past his time and lost the team after 2016. Huff has a lot to learn but give the man a chance. 8-4 may be dead on.

  • I also like Lambert, but he did get let go by UNCC.  He was 8-24 in CUSA conference games and overall he was 22-48. His best year was last year at 5-7. His replacement came in and had a winning season his first year at 7-6 and 5-3 in CUSA. I think he is an excellent position coach and he spent a lot of time working for Jim Donnan.
