Found this post game interview from Doc, which was a 28-27 loss to Southern Miss in 2017. I wanted to compare how the two coaches handled things after a close and disappointing loss. Yes, plenty of things that are different between then and now. But look at the difference in what they say and how they say it.
1. When asked about Red Zone scoring issues, Huff mentioned what defense ASU was running and why it's hard to throw against it, forcing you to run even though there is one extra hat in the box. Holiday gives nothing more than very vague "coach speak". He never mentions anything specific about a scheme for either team. The only thing Doc mentioned was "we have to make plays", and "they made one more play than us". Frankly, I think his football IQ is much lower than Huff.
2. Huff's tone was much more upbeat (even during a disappointing loss). He closed the conference thanking the fans and media. Doc did neither.
I have my concerns like everyone else, but just comparing the way both head coaches handle things, I think we'll see improvements. See what you think...
