  • My wife and I are going to be doing something we haven't done in a long while, stay in the Huntington area the night before a game.  We'll (or at least, I'll) be breakfast hungry Saturday morning.  Where is the best breakfast in Huntington these days?

I would say Bob Evans. I'm not much of a big breakfast eater, just coffee and a banana is good for me.. Depending on where you and your wife are staying, I would say anywhere downtown should have some good restaurants to choose from..

  • It?s not in Huntington proper, but make the drive to Oscars in Barboursville. It is far and away better for breakfast than anywhere in Huntington.

  • If you stay the night after the game, both Christopher?s Eats and Savannah?s has Sunday Brunch.
Both have a lump crab over potatoes/hollandaise.

Oscars for breakfast always a good choice.

Tudors, gag. Not a fan. My daughters love it though.

And you can?t ever go wrong with Panera Souffl?s. Not local, but if you?re in a pinch and they have them. They?re good.

My next door neighbors.  My wife is in there all the time.  So many people love their food.  They'll make anything you ask for, menu or not.

  • I like Tudors, but I have only eaten their biscuits with breakfast meat. I've tried to get into Oscar's for Sunday brunch and the wait is usually very long. Bob Evans is always a safe choice. But, I would not go to the one on 16th street. They do not have enough help and tend to put online and delivery orders ahead of those in the restaurant. The last time I ate there, it took them 30 minutes to get our food to the table. That was after waiting 20 minutes to be seated when there were only two parties ahead of the wife and myself. There is a good waiter there named Jeff, but he can only do so much. I've tried the Bob Evans on 3rd Avenue and had much better success.

Bob Evans on 16th St. I go there every Sunday morning. I have tried every one in the Huntington-Barboursville area. Now if you want to drive to Milton then Shonet's tops them all for breakfast, lunch and dinner

I'm not a fan of anything at Oscar's. I've never had good service and the food is just ok. Some greasy looking guy who must be the manager is always there. Doesn't make the food look to appealing

Same for the mall Bob Evans...service is awful.  They won't schedule more people because they get slow a lot, since COVID.  I'm like "it's Sunday morning, you aren't going to slow dow till at least 2pm and you know this."

The 16th St location actually borrows help for the 3rd Ave location

  • I like all of the above mentioned places, but agree that for a special occasion, you should try a unique Huntington place and not something that you could have anywhere eise.

If you don?t want a heavy breakfast and you are a coffee shop guy and like pastries for breakfast, Nomada Bakery at Heritage Station and Grindstone on 8th St are very worth looking into. I know Grindstone also has some nice bagel sandwiches with eggs and stuff too, not just like coffee cakes and muffins.

If you want more upscale, I think Le Bistro does breakfast. Also, a lot of the nicer Huntington restaurants that aren?t normally open for breakfast have very good weekend brunch, I.e. Sip Downtown Brasserie and Black Sheep.

  • Too bad there isn't a Dwight's anymore....those were the days.
"On rainy days, the early justices would enliven case conferences with wine. On other days, even if the sun was shining, Chief Justice John Marshall would order wine anyway, saying, 'Our jurisdiction is so vast that it must be raining somewhere.' "

  • Can't remember the name for sure but back in the late 60's & early 70's wasn't there a place called the white pantry or something like that. They were open 24 hrs. per day. Seems like they had booths & a long counter. I only ate there once or twice but it was very good.
