I had the privilege of attending a recent Green and White day with my grandson; it was outstanding. The speakers were succinct, with the exception of financial aid which just had too much to share in her allotted time. The program was thorough, and the prep from each school to showcase their offerings was fantastic.
Student recruitment need to be like an octopus, having coordinators working with volunteers all over the primary recruiting areas. And also, interested students need to have an easy and free-flowing experience in their internet/online discovery.
Dr. Mukerjee, as the Provost, was absolutely outstanding. I had a chance to visit with him for a moment after his presentation and told him in all honesty that his presentation to the visitors was, without doubt, the very best communications I have heard at MU in my 49 years post graduation in December, 1973.
I suggest that those of you who've had issues with the university recruiting your kids reach out directly to the MU Alumni Association as they approach recruiting age, or to the MU Foundation. Speak with your contacts at the Big Green. Let these organizations' leaders do your speaking to the recruiting office for you.
