  • Watching them play WVU and looking solid.  What?s the chances he comes to Marshall someday?  I love his style of play and coaching abilities.  He also recruits guys that play his style.  Go EKU tonight!

  • A.W. will probably get a P5 shot in the next few years.

I have not watched the game, but it looks like Jannson Williams had a nice game with 22 points and 6 rebounds.

Not one damn bit. WVU got the home cooking and won by three, 80-77.

Very true. I do not miss playing them at all. WVU got all the calls. At one point Janson got fouled 3 x on the same attempt and they called nothing. As usual, Huggins was in the middle of the court, harassing the refs. No way do mid majors get a chance. There is no question that the refs kept WVU in the game.

  • A.W. Hamilton will get a much better offer from a bigger school. As someone else posted, we lost out on him earlier in his coaching career.

  • That was a great game. Refs missed calls on both ends but don't think they "screwed" EKU. EKU missed a fair number of FT's in late stages. Williams was a beast despite being in foul trouble most of night. WVU had one hot player EKU couldn't stop or else they lose. WVU also had way too many offensive rebounds which allowed them to hand around. WVU led for only 5 minutes entire game.

Would love it if AW came to Hton someday. He may very well get better offers but who knows. He is from Georgetown KY. Either way he has paid his dues. Heck he might end up at UK or Louisville. He was a grad asst under Jirsa for one year then left (maybe he knew something we didn't..lol). Love how they talked about MU beating WVU AWs SR year.

I would have loved for Jannson to fit better into DD system. Remember playing against a very talented ranked Maryland team, Jannson ate the Terps up. So it's no surprise Jannson is playing the way we all knew he could play..

WVU got away with a ton of over the back no calls on rebounds.  I had to double check to see if that?s even still a called foul.

  • While I agree that Hamilton is likely well connect from his time at Hargrave, he hasn't quite won enough or won any title yet at the collegiate level to get noticed by the really big players yet (he only has something like a career .560 collegiate win percentage).   I think we're aware of him because he played and coached here, but I think he's going to have to move from EKU to a Marshall-type program with some success before he's going to get a really big job.

Not really if you look at what hes actually done. Look at it this way , if he wasnt a MU grad , would you want him based on what hes accomplished ?

Thinking the same thing, GD.  Williams with a very solid all around game and shot light out from all over.

Can't help wondering what if Jannson hadn't been "mysteriously" injured in our NCAA game with the EERS what the result would have been had he had a similar game there!!

  • Just like players, coaches that succeed show up on peoples radar.  Other coaches have noticed AW for sure.  Watch his team play is the best visability. Sometimes it takes postseason success to really get serious consideration from big schools since that is usually what they are lacking in current coach. If AW gets to NCAA tourney and wins a game his value will skyrocket. Unfortunately, he is in a one bid league that isn't as good as CUSA and your RPI doesn't get a big jump from playing schools like WVU close, you have to win. He's 41 yrs old so the next 4-5 yrs from him are pretty important. He also might be perfectly happy building the program at EKU and keeping his family rooted.

He has us and NC State listed in his contract for a reduced payout if he were to come here or Raleigh.
I believe, however, he will be at a higher profile job by the time Danny retires
