Geeze!  When a guy named "Kelly" VOLUNTARILY leaves South Bend, the first logical question should be WTF is going on at Notre Dame!

Next, perhaps, should be:  Did Rich Rod jump "too soon" in taking the Jacksonville State job?  Ole Rich's off the field antics and life style may play well in the apparent social atmosphere in former Mayor Buttigig's City!

Finally, Could possibly our former head man, Doc Holliday, with his long and varied college coaching experience and renown recruiting acumen, see his name thrown into the discussion re: possible replacements at ND for Coach Kelly?

And on another Head Coach opening front, one source says the latest at VA TECH indicates that along with Coach Huff, Hokies apparently looking at/"interested" in, the HC at Coastal C., Bill Clark at UAB, and Coordinators at Georgia, Bama and Clemson!  Pretty stiff competition for Coach Huff, IMO!!

Right.  He's had some impressive stops as an assistant with some thoroughbred connections, but in his first D1 HC position, he's goi more to show/prove before becoming an "A/Lister" HC candidate, IMO.

He will likely be their preference. The AD said they may wait until after the bowl season is over. This, I believe, was a clear indicator that Fickell is their guy. It's not like the Georgia, Alabama or Michigan coaches are on the list.
